According to the video below, former House Majority Leader Dick Armey has said that many Republicans will vote for Libertarian candidates in House races.
The Washington Times is reporting that former House Whip Tom DeLays wife plans to pull the Bob Barr lever on Election Day:
Tom DeLay will vote for John McCain but the former House Republican leader said his wife, Christine, is planning to vote for Libertarian presidential nominee Bob Barr.
Im trying to convince my wife not to do that, the Texas Republican told editors and reporters at The Washington Times on Friday. She said it publicly yesterday.

Maybe the wimpy RINOs will get a clue when even their own spouses won’t vote for them. :)
And I have a strong suspicion that James Carville’s wife will NOT be voting for Barack Obama.
with all due respect.....Tom Delay is nowhere near a RINO.
"Ha! You Losertarians will never get more than .0001% of the vote! Go smoke some pot or look at child porn!
AFTER THE ELECTION:
"Waaaa! Why did you Loserdopians cause our RINOs to lose! Waaaa!"
Yeah, but McCain is. She's got more guts than Tom.
I didn’t say he was, and his wife didn’t say she wouldn’t vote for him.
Geeze.

She must be a liberal. Who else would vote for a former ACLU attorney?
Pathetic.
I will hate living in the Obamanation. The guy will be praised by the media and the left, our enemies will take advantage of us, our military will be demoralized, and our economy will tank.
Those of us who criticize will be labeled racists, and steps will be taken by the super-majority Democrat operatives in Congress to shut us down. It’ll start with the “Fairness Doctrine”, and may end up with the Congress authorizing three or more NEW justices to the Supreme Court, creating a court of 12 justices...the Messiah Obama will name them, and our SCOTUS will turn socialist for the next 50 years.
He is worse. He is totally incompetent. Through egotistical bungling, he managed to turn his District (TX-22)over to a liberal democrat in 2006. He and Newtie are poster boys explaining the GOP slow motion train wreck 1996 through 2006. Most of he and his colleague's turned pimp. Bob Bar is a ACLU pimp. Newtie is a publicity hound. Tom turned lobbyist pimp. We have two good Congressmen in the Houston area: Ted Poe and John Culverson
Isn’t he some kind of a gay activist?
Barr doesn't appear half bad under these conditions.
McCain has ticked me off plenty but mindlessly labeling him as a "RINO" is not accurate. On some issues he is a flaming liberal. On other issues he's a solid conservative. If one takes the emotion out of it by looking at ACU ratings you see his lifetime rating is 82 and Obama's is 9.
I'm somewhat sorry to say that Dick is correct. I can assure you that this particular lifelong Repub will be sending as loud a message as I can.
Problem is...he's wacko on others (my main peeves being his stand on global warming and stem cell research).
That being said, I will have NO problem pulling the lever for him in Nov. McCain is miles better than the Dems.
Does anyone really care who Tom’s wife votes for or against?
I don't disagree. By the way his ACU rating has been all over the place.
In '99 it was 77.
In 2000 it was 81.
In 2001 it was 68.
In 2002 it was 78.
In 2003 it was 75.
In 2004 it was 72.
In 2005 it was 80.
In 2006 it was 65.
Is he a RINO? I think he is. One day he'll "cross the aisle" and he won't come back.
How many ACLU attorneys have lifetime ACU ratings of 98%?
And Barr's is 98%. This should be a "no brainer" for any conservative serious about restoring the Republic.

The Elephant in the room is as good as extinct as the Whigs.
So, where does Tom DeLay’s wife vote? Virginia or Texas?
You must support McCain/Finegold. The ACLU led the court fight against it, joined by numerous groups I’m sure you think are liberal, like the NRA, American Conservative Union, Americans for Tax Reform, the Free Congress Foundation, the Second Amendment Foundation, Christian Coalition, Gun Owners of America, the Family Research Council, the Southeastern Legal Foundation, the Business-Industry Political Action Committee, the National Right to Life Committee. So by your standards these groups must be liberal too.
Congressman Dick Armey also worked with Bob Barr and the ACLU to protect our Constitutional rights. I guess you think he’s a liberal too.
Are you saying that everyone who is on the same side as the ACLU now and then is a liberal?
Do you refuse to work with people when they agree with you on an issue because you disagree with them on other issues?
Why not just vote for Obama?
The “message” you will be sending is that you want a veto-proof socialist majority in Congress, a Constitution-hating SCOTUS for decades (long enough to finish the destruction of America), and a Marxist as CinC of the U.S. armed forces, the CIA, FBI, NSA, and the rest. I suggest you think your options through a little more thoroughly.
(sarc)What a bargin!(/sarc)
The ACLU makes a habit of being on the liberal side of every issue, whether it furthers civil liberties or not. It only cares about civil liberties when they further its liberal agenda. The Scouts are a good example. The Supreme Court has ruled that the Scouts have a right to freedom of association under the Constitution—which is a civil liberty. Even though the Court has ruled against the ACLU’s position, it continues to sue the Scouts in an effort to force them to conform to its liberal opinions.
Barr could have associated himself with an organization that truly believes in civil liberties. Instead, he associated with an organization whose primary motivation for championing civil liberties is only to force liberal political and social views on the American people.
In what alternate Universe?
Gang of 14. Dumb fingers...
Not just a privacy attorney. An ACLU attorney.
The ACLU has little credibility on privacy, by the way. Ask the Scouts.
Bob Barr, like Keyes, is not a candidate he’s a guy looking for donations.
Oh! Oh! I know who that is! It's Mike Off-his-meds-ved, right?
So you agree with McCain/Feingold because the ACLU led the fight against it?
All those rock solid conservative groups are now liberal because they’ve worked with the ACLU? I suppose you think all the FReepers who oppose McCain/Feingold and were hoping the ACLU suit would get it overturned are liberals in your mind too.
Barr and Armey have lifetime ACU ratings of 98% and 97% respectively, but you think they are liberal?
I guess in your world the Republicans who side with Loserman on the war are liberals too and should not work with him on that issue. You cant have it both ways.
I suppose you have no problem supporting McCain even though he works with Soros and takes money from him. But Barr, who is far and away more conservative than McCain, you have a problem supporting because he worked on the same side as the ACLU, Dick Armey, American Conservative Union, Americans for Tax Reform, the Free Congress Foundation, and the Second Amendment Foundation, on the same issue. Do you also have a problem supporting those groups?
It makes no sense to me at all to refuse to work with someone or some group who agrees with you on one issue just because they disagree with you on everything else.
Let me suggest Lou Barletta or Joe Arpaio.
I reference post #32 above.
Oh, my! You’re post makes me want to curl up and die!
The cases Bob was working on all involved the FedGov over stepping it’s bounds under the Homeland Security provisions and trampling the 4th Amendment. I’m not real crazy about our new Big Brother organization so anyone making their lives interesting in the legal arena is OK in my book.
He sure isn’t. I miss ole Tom.
I would not say that they “led the fight against it.” They got the labor union restrictions and the media restrictions thrown out as unconstitutional. The rest of us, though, are still prohibited from making any meaningful contribution to the political process. The result of their efforts was to tilt the system to the left, just what you would expect from a liberal organization.
You didn’t answer the question: “Why not vote for Obama?”
“SICK . . . TIRED . . . and . . . FED UP”
And I’m “SICK . . . TIRED . . . and . . . FED UP” with ‘real conservatives’ complaining about having to choose between the ‘lesser of two evils’.
NEWS FLASH! ‘THIS JUST IN!’ JESUS CHRIST ISN’T RUNNING!
All politicians are imperfect. Any vote you cast is a vote for the ‘lesser of two evils’.
Get used to it.
Get over it.
Quit complaining about it.
I don’t vote for liberals from EITHER party. Barack Obama is a nonstop flight to political and social perdition. John McCain is the same thing with a brief layover in purgatory. If you ask me whether I prefer to drink poison or concentrated poison I’m going to say a polite NO THANK YOU TO BOTH ! ! !
I take it that there is bad blood between McCain and Tom Delay. It sounds as though it is very personal, personal enough that Tom Delay’s wife hates McCain more than Tom.
When I walk into a restaurant and they tell me I have my choice of compost crepes or manure muffins and THAT’S IT ! ! ! I’m going to exercise my God given right to get up and leave the restaurant and go to Ruth’s Cris or some place that serves Allen Brother’s steaks. The RNC is already morally and ideologically bankrupt and IF THEY DON’T CHANGE THE MENU THEY WILL BE FINANCIALLY BANKRUPT and then we can replace them with something of better character.
Don't write in anyone. That vote won't count and won't even be reported. If you're not going to vote for McCain, vote for Barr or Baldwin, whoever is on your ballot. That way the vote will be reported. If you're going to cast a protest vote, make sure your protest is known.
As someone else so eloquently said before, "Just because you can't have a completely sterile operating room, doesn't mean you should perform surgery in a sewer." And with MacQueeg, we're already in the sewer. Time to do what we should have done years ago: Tell the GOP, "Not this time."
I swallowed their 5h!+ sandwiches too many times. MacCain was the last straw (or turd).
Probably a good idea. It would go toward insuring ballot access for the Libertarians in the next election cycle.
