I’m here in Rockville right now, and we’re getting hammered by a big noisy thunderstorm.

There’s so much hot air blowing up on Capital Hill, it’s a wonder the roof doesn’t blow off!

Right now (3:20 EDT) there’s a line of thunderstorms running almost directly along I-95/I-395/I-83 from Fredericksburg, VA to the MD/PA line, with severe thunderstorm warnings along most of that length.

It’s a doozy, but nothing more than a severe thunderstorm in the summer downtown.

Understand there’s strong rotation up near beltsville though.

I thought this was about Hillary and Obama :), seriously take these serious, my hometown in Iowa was hit Memorial weekend and it killed 7 in the two town area. There had been storms, but never a tornado in the area. I live in KC now and we have had our share of nasty weather this Spring.

Stay safe

We’re getting very dark and heavy sprinkles starting in Baltimore County.

I just rode thru one patch of heavy T-storms in Sterling, VA. Just getting back online as I unplugged every piece of electronic equipment at the time. Power went off a good dozen times, and when the power was on, the lights were flickering like mad.

My wife was just driving back from Damascus to Mont Village and said that every road they tried, trees were down so she would have to turn around and try a different way.

Nah, they’re heading for Ocean City. The storms’ll probably get backed up at the Kent Narrows Bridge on US 50 like everybody else used to.

Heads up, Baltimordor, they’re heading your way...

I probably took the same route back to Mount Airy. There were a lot of trees down.

It took me 2 hours to get home yesterday (as opposed to the usual hour and change). Numerous traffic signals out, tree branches and power lines in the road, and so on. I drove from Silver Spring to Mt. Airy via Georgia Avenue and I-70. It seemed that the whole town of Mt. Airy was blacked out.

Usually, we don't have power and the town does...but our power came back quickly, yesterday.

No power at the schools...kids off today.

Traffic is still a mess this afternoon. 270 and 495 are backed up.
