With senator Barack Obama poised this week to clinch his party's nomination for President, there are growing fears in some quarters that the Democratic party may not be choosing its strongest candidate to beat Republican John McCain.
Senator Hillary Clinton has been making that argument for weeks. Now some recent polls and analysis, looking particularly at vital battleground states and support among white voters, have bolstered her case - even as Obama looks certain to become the nominee.
Obama supporters reject this argument and point to his record of boosting Democratic voter turnout, especially among the young. But sceptics in the party, already nervous about nominating Obama after the furore over outspoken pastor Jeremiah Wright, are growing increasingly concerned. 'There is an element of buyer's remorse in some areas. The question is whether it gets really strong now or in September - or even after the election is over, if he loses,' said Steve Mitchell, head of political consultancy Mitchell Research.
Another boost to Clinton's case came late last week after a pro-Obama preacher gave a race-tinged rant against her at Obama's church in Chicago. In a recent sermon Michael Pfleger - a long-term Obama backer who is white - mocked Clinton as an entitled white person angry at a black man having beaten her. His angry, red-faced speech, in which he mimicked Clinton weeping, was played repeatedly across American cable channels and the internet.
The news sent shock waves through Democratic circles; many had hoped Obama had put 'pastor problems' behind him. 'It is more of the same problem as Wright. It reinforces the image among some voters that Obama does not share their values,' said Mitchell.

Shhhhhhh.
My wife’s whole family is blue collar Dems. Never voted for a Republican in their lives. They say they’re voting McCain this time. I know they aren’t alone.
Hehe ... the way we planned it.
They will burn if McCain wins. Some people like to riot.
This nation will have this confrontation at one time or another. Unfortunately, it’s only a matter of time.
I wonder where Farrakhan is lurking right now...
When he looses in the GE cities across the nation will burn.

His public persona thrives on a manipulation of whites (bargaining), and his private sense of racial identity demands both self-betrayal and duplicity. His is the story of a man who flew so high, yet neglected to become himself.
This is what happens when you are treated like an affirmative action hire by the MSM.
Hussein just is not a man yet, he has some more baking to do before he can come out of the oven.
They did it to let Hillary stay in the race to beat Obama down to make him a weak candidate against McCain.
How about:
Fears grow that Obama can't win: People with an IQ over 75 and any shame at all won't vote for him?
“They will burn if McCain wins. Some people like to riot.”
Heck they may riot if he wins!
I don’t think cities will burn-—Obama doesn’t command that kind of following. But there WOULD be a lot of noise, and a lot of hard-to-take speeches from the usual suspects. ANYWAY, I have been saying for MONTHS that regardless of what the trend seems to be, Hillary will get the nomination in the end. And I still believe that. But, boy, would that have to be handled delicately, with lots of trade-offs and favors and stuff I don’t even want to know about.
Pleasepleaseleasepleasepleaseleaseplease.....
Best 3 word description of Obama: college campus demagogue.
They will burn if McCain wins. Some people like to riot."
Lock and load and BLOAT!
This is what happens when you cobble togeather a coalition of various interest groups with conflicting victim mentalities and an irrational sense of entitlement. They have met the true enemy and it is them.
Maybe the can reject both of them and find other black candidate to run in Obama’s place. LOL
I imagine that when we’re on our 63rd “recount” and 37th lawsuit in March 2009, EVERYONE will be rioting. The ‘RATS are going to want to count, prod and poke ballots until Obama Hussein is declared the winner.
This creates a wave of some sorts. There are probably seventeen states which are absolute wins for McCain today with no argument. Taking the Hillary-working class in another dozen states likely takes them over to McCain at this point. Even without winning Cal or NY...McCain has a fairly strong situation in almost thirty states today...something Obama can’t discuss. Hillary has no intention of helping Obama in the fall....unless he were to offer money to pay off the bills...which I seriously doubt that he will do so. As much as I disagree with McCain....I think this race is pretty settled.
While whites are living in the suburbs.
Are they introducing a new generation of wide screen TV this summer?
but you took Father Pfleger out of context (sarc)
Are you comforted, pissant, knowing that Democrats are flocking to McCain? I know I’m not. They aren’t turning to him because of his staunch record as a conservative. Because.............................
Where were they the last eight years when Pres. Bush needed their support?
If not, looter guy can always use more Heineken.
I seriously doubt that. But the democrat party would be in as much trouble as the Republican party.
We better just hope the poll hold until the general election. All the people that switched party lines to vote for Obama thinking he would lose, may have just given us POTUS Obama. And he's going to be worse on military and abdicating US Sovergnty to the UN than Clinton ever thought about being.
You can never have enough, especially during this election year.
The only saving grace this election has been the comedy between Obama and Hillary. As much as I despise Hillary, Obama is even worse of a commie. So if America rejects him and votes instead for the GOP’s retard, that’s fine with me. The retard isn’t fine, however, and my goals are the smae regardless who wins.
I think Pennsylvania may go for McCain. If so, BHMO(pbuh) has no chance whatsoever.
My 88 year old aunt who has major BDS and who has screamed against the Republicans on long distance phone calls to my mother for about 30 years is now ranting in every phone call that she is going to vote for McCain! A couple other BDS Democrat friends who regularly spout all the usual conspiracy theories are also ranting that they are voting for McCain. A far left loonie acquaintance who used every social occasion the past 7 years to rant against Bush and Republicans is strangely silent these days and says she is in a different place now with politics and just trying to stay calm. Ha!
Ha! 237 + 5 + 10 + 17 = 269 = 249 + 20
I agree. Rush saved me with his Operation Chaos by injecting humor and mischief into this election cycle. At least it became entertaining for awhile.
My 88 year old aunt is from north central Pennsylvania and I totally agree they will go with McCain.
A cursory glance at the thousands of Youtube comments reflect the fallout of Wright, Pfleger and Obama. Most Americans do not like Al Sharpton either, and they know what to expect out of a Farrakhan-Sharpton-Obama relationship if they get their hands on the White House.
Surprisingly, most of the Youtube posts show absolute disgust for the Obama camp for hanging around these cretins.
Most Americans are angry and provoked by the mere mentioning of Obama's name right now, and I really hope it stays that way to November. I am not too sure of what the democrats feel right now, but I know that Americans don't like Obama at all.
When Americans like you post here about the democrats' "buyer's remorse" with Obama, I truly do believe it.
Quote to the press, from a Dem about Obama at todays DNC meeting:
“When you tell me that much bad news about someone, I start to panic. Suddenly it's no longer about being a Democrat. It's about being an American. It's about preserving the United States of America.”
Gee, an uppity Marxist-Muslim America-hating baby-killer whose pals praise Charles Manson, kill cops, damn America and accuse our government of inventing AIDS to kill black people.
Oh, and who's a millionaire in a fixer's mansion slammin' all us typical white people as mean-spirited, bitter an' clingin' to God and guns--man, what's not to like!
Gee, you think? Come out of the dark ages demos. What was I thinking. The people were smarter back then, then the demos are today.
I think that Hillary's people are very strong in these states, and they will switch over for McCain if Obama boots her out of the scene.
My theory also extends to Ohio and Michigan.
Primitive people riot over political issues like elections.
So...What’s the problem?
Seriously, I think Obama will lose to McCain.
But if they throw him to the back of the bus, Hillary will also lose, cause she can’t win without strong black support in certain states: Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
I disagreed with Rush who wanted Hillary to get the nod. To me, Obama was the weakling.
I hope your wifes family live in Wisconsin or Ohio. someplace where it could make a difference.
