Soros Publisher 'Shaped' McClellan's Hit Job: Other publishers don't recognize it as the same book
American Thinker ^ | 05/31/08 | Wm Tate

Posted on 05/31/2008 7:32:57 AM PDT by LBSTx

An examination of published reports reveals that Scott McClellan's kiss-and-smell betrayal of George W. Bush is a far cry from the book McClellan started out to write and was shaped into an offensive tome by a publisher with close ties to George Soros.

To understand how McClellan's literary knife-in-the-back evolved, one has to know something about the book industry.

Of course McClellan did not write the book. It probably would not have been published, and Scotty would not have gotten his “blood money” if the liberal/Soros mob had not gotten their way with the content.

The analysis makes perfect sense. Paid only $75K as an advance - before the tome was written - shows precisely why he folded and wrote what the Soros crowd demanded.

Clear as day!

I don't think our dumbed down Politically Correct Society acknowledges Treason as a crime in this country any more. When People like Nancy Pelosi can compliment Iran and Scott McClellan can eviscerate his President and neither of them is marched before a firing squad, it is a new day in America…and not a very pretty one. Scott is merely pathetic, Pelosi is both dangerous and pathetic….these people do not represent my country in any way - unfortunately they represent George Soros and his anti-American ilk.

I agree that it makes sense that he folded somewhat, but would he sell himself out for only 75k? His life’s worth for less than a 100 grand and he will be marred like a ink stain for the rest of his life because of this hit piece he signed his name to.

****His life’s work(sic) for less than a 100 grand??****

No...I believe he quickly realized that slime was needed to sell his book....he had nothing else to sell...plus he had some scores to settle and decided to vent and be venal.

He’s probably passive aggressive - hid his true anger, acted all goody-goody to get with the *IN* crowd and is finally blowing a gasket. Notice the SMIRK?

It wasn’t only for $75K. The author made the point that someone paid a trifling advance has to write something truly explosive to earn more than the advance in royalties. Someone paid a large advance has a lot less incentive to sell books than this guy because they have already been enriched.

Liberals obvious quest for power, at the expense of their country, IMO, equates to treason and negates their right to call themselves Americans. These “traitors” are robbing our children and grandchildren of their futures. These Liberal traitors are destroying what millions of brave American patriots sacrificed their lives for. IMO, that makes people like Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Murtha, Kerry, Obama, and the rest of the human waste in DC loathsome and reprehensible.

The book does not have any credibility, so if the liberal wackos are going to pay good money for this obviously contrived piece of fiction, who cares?

The article mentioned if it sells well then the author will make more money. Doesn’t say how much, which is besides the point, but the only guaranteed amount is 75k. With liberals alone buying this book it will probably sell well so maybe he gets a cetain percentage of sales like the editor does? What’s the breakdown?

Submit a draft, hmm, make a few changes, submit it again, hmm, lets tweak this up a little here, submit it again, more changes... until the the whole thing is a total rewrite.

Maybe a lot of that did happen but you don't hear McClellan reprimanding the publisher or threatening and filing a lawsuit against them for basically changing everything he wrote and basically just using his name.

Yesterday I heard him being interviewed saying he is considering Barrack Obama. You got to be kidding me! How George Bush ever gave this clown a job in his administration is beyond me. He is clearly not a conservative and never was.

You don't have to know about the American book industry, you just have to know about Scott McClellan.

I've told my wife for years, don't fear strong people, it's the weak ones who will knife you in the back. 15 seconds of Scott McClellan lets you know, he's one weak **^&%$#)*&.

I think this is a mark agaisnt Bush, who promoted such a man to Press Secretary and kept him employeed for years and years.

I'm not defending him, I'm just suggesting how it happened. He allowed himself to be brainwashed by the left.

Apparently that's what he does - At the White House, he was told what to say and he went out and said it, now the left got hold of him and he's done exactly the same thing.

He's probably incapable of having an original thought.

He was paid a lot less than that up front. If he was lucky half on signing and half on finishing. Deduct from that 15% to his agent (unless he used a lawyer for an hourly fee) and whatever he paid a ghostwriter.

Obviously the publisher was able to tell him he would never earn anything beyond the paltry advance unless he spiced it up. Very effective tactic.

It cleared explained, because he received such a SMALL AMOUNT UP FRONT... he was under pressure to write the type of book that would sell, if he wanted to make MORE money.

...and apparently that's what his goal was...write a book that would BRING in MORE money.

...and apparently that's what his goal was...write a book that would BRING in MORE money.

It didn't clearly explain why his motive was to make money as it was supposed to be a a factual account of his time in the WH. Other than the fact he duped everyone, if I were him I would never be able to live with myself for selling out the WH staff for a few measly bucks. So apparently we can assume A) He never was a conservative or even shared conservative ideals, or B) (which is most likely the case) his greed for money outweighed his allegiance to the conservative cause. And if in fact it is B, then he is a disgrace and should be tried for treason.

My point is that is still selling out for a pittance even if royalties would eventually earn him a million $, unless he doesn't care how it tarnishes his name. If he doesn't care then we will know what kind of creep he really is and always was.

Scott McClellan longest continuously paid mole in Bush' administrations!

Sicken, isn't it?

He probably never had any true convictions of any kind.

If this President and his administration had been popular, the weasel would have rode those coattails and cashed out accordingly...since that was not the case, he had no qualms going the other way to try and make a buck.

Being the spineless, characterless person he is, he has probably had no problem convincing himself that he has had a so called change of heart.

One of the REALLY infuriating pieces of this whole deal to me is...had he never been Press Sec, if Tony had succeeded Ari...W's ratings would have still been low, but, not as low as that POS further lowered them!
