BREAKING: Homosexual 'Marriage' Advances in CA and NY
Catholic online ^ | 5/29/08 | Deacon Keith Fournier

Defenders of Marriage as a lifelong union between one man and one woman faced another challenge in the growing activist led effort to compel Legal recognition of equivalent status for homosexual partnerships and married couples.

On Wednesday, May 28th, California’s Chief of Vital Statistics issued guidelines to the 58 County Clerks’, effective June 17, 2008, requiring that they issue marriage licenses to homosexual partners. In addition, she issued new language which removes any reference to the applicants being a man or a woman, assigning instead the new identification of “Party A’ and “Party B” to the applicants.

...There is a ballot initiative pending which would reaffirm the people of California’s express desire to keep Marriage as between one man and one woman. The Justices have until June 16, 2008 to rule on this Motion. Thus, the guidelines issued by Janet McKee, the Chief County Clerk, are dated June 17. She apparently anticipates that the Justices will decline the Motion.

Within hours of the issuance of the guidelines from the Chief Clerk in California, the Governor of New York decided to enter the fray.

Gov. David Patterson, who replaced the former Governor James McGreevey, who left office in a cloud after claiming to be a practicing homosexual in the midst of a corruption scandal, issued an order to all State Agencies. The Order requires that the agencies immediately rewrite all regulations, including all pertaining to insurance and health services, to recognize homosexual ‘marriages’ from other States.

The Governor has given the agencies until June 30, 2008 to comply with his order. They are to report back to him on how they will comply. This executive action does not change New York law, which does not grant equivalency between homosexual partnerships and marriage.

Let CA, NY, and MA become the Homosexual Marriage States.
Just make sure your state doesn’t recognize these phony “marriages.” It will effectively quarantine this mental illness.

Only a matter of time before "C" & "D" will want to join the "Party".

Wait a minute. CA did what they needed to by a majority vote of the will of people and a couple of judges usurped not only law but their will.

If there was ever a time for civil disobidence it's now!!! Judges can not make law and these judges effectively have tried to do such.

NJ’s Corzine has let it be known he will sign gay marriage into law but not until after the November election.

In California marriage is still between one man and one woman, but now you get to take turns being the woman. “Badda Bing”.

"Gov. David Patterson, who replaced the former Governor James McGreevey, who left office in a cloud after claiming to be a practicing homosexual in the midst of a corruption scandal,..."

Did I just wake up in an alternate universe, or did the writer confuse McGreedy with Sptizer?

One of the best things that could have happened to traditional marriage is this polygamy thing in TX. The link will be clear between the dissolution of marriage being one man and one woman to whatever someone wants to call marriage. A constitutional amendment is going to occur sooner rather than later.

This will be another reason for those who are having trouble with the idea of voting for McCain, to do so.
So let’s see, for those keeping score at home,
staying home or casting a vote for barack curious george mcgovern will bring ruth ginsbergs, surrender in the WOT, a weak military, high taxes, endless earmarks and now gay “marriages.”

Do you “A” take you “B” to be your lawfully wedded partner?

Usually a liberal phony will show up in these FR threads and make the "very stupid, very dishonest and very liberal" claim that the issue of gay marriage is the conservative's fault.

To these FR phonies, it is the conservatives who are driving the issue by not caving in to this abomination that is constantly shoved into their faces by the far left.

The FR phony will whine and cry as they babble about time wasted on these issues. The phony FR liberal needs to sell his "tripe" to the initiators and the peddlers of this gay nonsense, the far left. They won't do this of course, because they generally are in agreement with the left while claiming principle and virtue.

Yeah, um, I was right around the state office building in NYC when all that went down, so I’m pretty sure that was Spitzer and his expensive prostitute, not some other guy who was gay.

This is about benefits and acceptance of a deviant behavior and vilifying any that object to it. Yet hidden from view is the next step allowing homosexuals to have access to adoption of little boys. Remember what they did in the Catholic church.

Repeating myself.... There is no argument in favor of gay marriage that doesn’t equally support marriage between two existing relatives (of any sex). You can’t support gay marriage without supporting incest.
