NEW YORK — A string of shootings in a New York City neighborhood left eight people, including half a dozen teenagers, with gunshot wounds, police said Tuesday.

All of the victims were expected to recover from their injuries.

The six teens were found near Harlem's Marcus Garvey Park, where a crowd had gathered. It was not immediately clear whether they were wounded at the park or as they fled when gunfire erupted about 10:15 p.m. Monday, police said.

The victims — between the ages of 13 and 18 — were found on several blocks along Lenox Avenue, from 125th Street to 128th Street.

They had been shot in the chest, thigh, torso, abdomen or foot, police said. A 15-year-old girl had been grazed on the forehead. No arrests had been made.

OH GEE—Aren’t guns ILLEGAL in NYC!?

Reminding of of the 1970’s bumper sticker:
WHEN GUNS ARE OUTLAWED—ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS

Hmmm. Not a word about suspects. Must be another case of guns going out and shooting people again, and then getting themselves back to their holsters totally undetected.

I think we should immediately pull all of our forces out and relocate them to Guam. It is just too dangerous in NY.

I would say “Bring back Giuiliani” but I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t want the job now.

Another success story from a “gun free zone”.

Maybe Bloomberg will sue himself as the root for all the “gun” violence.

Before the “anything goes” crowd took over, I recall being able to go anyplace in NYC at anytime. In the 1950’s we would take the bus from NJ (bergen County) into the City, jump off at the 42nd St terminal and hope on the subway and go wherever we wanted to go and never gave it a second thought as to what time of day or night it was.

China Town, Harlem, Times Square, the soap box preachers on the corner proclaiming the end of the world was here, all of it was there for us and without danger.

I really pity the people of today who never experienced the benefits of law enforcement properly done and the fruits of a society that actually raised their children to distinguish between right and wrong and to understand the consequences to be faced should they stray from the path.

Nah...why take personal responsibility when there are plenty of reputable firearms retailers in the South to bankrupt? /s

He was the best mayor NYC ever had. Times Square looks horrible again.

Hopefully, the USSC will soon overturn Washington DC’s gun prohibition. A new wave of legal challenges can then overturn existing gun laws in NYC, Chicago, San Fran, etc.

The new law could be modeled on Texas, Florida etc. concealed carry and Castle doctrines.
