RV owners including Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who travels the country in a big motor coach with his wife when not deciding cases.

How cool would it be to sit around a campfire with Clarence Thomas!

Sounds good to me. I’ll be happy to share some stories and snacks with nice folks around the campfire.

About the only rational part of this article. Camping with Justice Thomas would be a joy for anyone. Although since he does the motorcoach* thing, it’s a stretch to call that camping. ;)

* My folks worked their way up from tent, camper, trailer to motorhome, so I’m just teasing about parking a large motorcoaches in a deluxe RV park with full hookups, A/C and satellite TV not really being camping. :)

Naw, it’s because we spent a few hundred years “roughing it” in the outdoors and don’t feel particularly inclined to do it anymore. ;P

Frankly this is just something I hadn’t given much thought.
Something tells me I won’t lose much sleep tonight trying to figure out what in the hell the author is trying to say, ON AN OBIOUSLY SLOW NEWSDAY.

Why do Blacks always feel the need to form groups that promote segregation? Black RVers, Black Caucuses, NAACP, etc.

Because many of our "loved ones" and extended family members are still very "ghetto". They have experienced nothing of life outside of the city or "inner" city, and we want them to move forward in their lives. Many won't, but maybe the next generation will experience a fuller life than their parents if their eyes are opened to a wider world than partying and working.

Well keep up the good work.

I grew up in the city myself and I now appreciate my parents getting me out camping and fishing on the weekends and on vacations. Not always so easy for many. But it can be life changing for inner-city kids to experience the world outside of the negative influence of the city.

Reminds me of the time I was on a chairlift at Vail and saw a black skier go by. I nearly fell out.

Hey I think its great.

I took a van-load of kids camping some years ago to Sequoia National Park. We were all shades. Some of those kids have told me that it still is one of the high-lights of their life.

We had a “work” camping and fishing trip and my good friend came along, posion ivy scared him to death, he checked out at 9:00 pm, slept right through and missed all of the fishing..

The Hispanics took to it like ducks to water though, what they caught was breakfast, a hog sucker was on the breakfast menu...LOL!
