"Rolling Thunder" is a most fitting motto.
Indeed, thousands of bikers are rolling along the Washington area's roadways today with plenty of gumption and an unabashed carbon footprint. Exhaust pipes are vibrating, pistons are pumping, and it is, well, thunderous.
For the 21st year in a row, the two-wheeled crusade called Rolling Thunder has taken over the capital of the free world. An estimated 350,000 motorcyclists plus their intrepid passengers, activists, organizers, fans and awestruck spectators have assembled here to draw America's attention to fallen soldiers, lost warriors, prisoners of war, honored veterans and military families.
The mighty take notice. In past years, President Bush himself has twice greeted a select group of Rolling Thunder riders, who piloted their massive machines right up the White House driveway, then stuck out their hands for a regulation high-five.
"First thing, this is about supporting America and our folks in the military, past and present. It's about love of country, love of bikes. People have a calling to be here," said Pete Ries, a detention officer from Fredericksburg, who has ridden "Old Blue" his spotless, chrome-crowned Harley-Davidson in the annual event a half-dozen times.

There. Fixed it.
Wish I was there-and wish I had packed my ping list.

....most of the local motorcycle “runs” in our area start at bars and end at bars...
Who’s gonna FIX you?
NEVER seen one of these guys visiting a VFW post, going to see the guys at the hospital, or donating a cent or a second if it didn’t involve showing off the bike.
Who’s gonna FIX you?
I have ridden to “Rolling Thunder” from Texas five times, and you POS can kiss my A**.
I have not ridden to Rolling Thunder from Texas five times, and you POS can kiss my A**, and yo mamma too.
You need to get out more often.
I have Freeped the far left in the presence and along with the Rolling Thunder on several occassions. Your snotty comment belittles genuine patriots.
It is very comfortable behind your keyboard and requires no expenditure of effort, time or travel expense. You should not trash those willing to commit time, effort, and money to make a patriotic point.
You need to get bent. I HAVE given my time. Joined the Corps the day after my 17th b-day so I could kill jihadists. Saw some action in Beirut, but, unfortunately did NOT get to kill any jihadists. Have been to VFW posts and hospitals DOZENS of times, NOT showing off my cool ride, by the way.

....my wife and I never saw them when we volunteered at Walter Reed...
Your point in responding to this thread????...possibly biker-envy? Apparently nothing positive!
If they wheeled the patients out into the parking lot, and let the riders come up, give a high five, and drive off on camera, you’d see them.
It is easy to make such comments when hiding in the grass.
Maybe you didn't see them because you weren't there. Why don't you put out your name and address, so people can see what you are.
Waiting for you to do the same.
Are these the guys who have given support to families at funerals where that POS Phelps causes so much grief?
“There. Fixed it.”
What happened to you? Your man ride away on his Harley, leaving you in the dust?
You can’t fix stupid.
ENVY is an ugly thing!

My husband served with 2/6 in Beirut. When were you there?
you’ve been on FR for 4 months, and this is the best you’ve got??
I, too, was with the 6th Marines. TOW platoon. Airlifted out when the barracks got hit. Scheduled for departure two months later. Cross decked voluntarily (waiting for people to show some respect for my service, btw. Maybe if I buy a Harley...) Departed Beirut the following May.
You’ve been on FR for more than 4 months, and this is the best you’ve got?
you obviously have mistaken this site as a haven for your inanities! Try DU..I’m sure they’ll appreciate you...tell them Keith sent you!
My husband was on R&R when the Embassy was blown up in April ‘83 - had to scramble as they were returning to Beirut.

What is that? It’s been 23 years since I got out.
“Are these the guys who have given support to families at funerals where that POS Phelps causes so much grief?”
Yes.
We respect your service, but not your arrogance.
But I have yet to find a true combat veteran who brags about killing an enemy. There fore I highly suspect your true level of service.
Field Radio Operator - I always said he was the target - walking around with that huge antenna!
I thought so - thanks! They have my support completely - anyone willing to stand up to phelps is a hero to me!
I highly suspect your ability to read simple English. Notice, (I’ll speak slowly) I specifically stated that I was DENIED the opportunity to kill a jihadist. Phrased more simply — I did NOT kill the enemy. Maybe if I’d bought a Harley...
‘Tis true. We were always told that for the enemy it was in order of preference 1. Officers, 2. machine gunners, 3. radio men.
They fight for legislation to support POW-MIAs and their families, do charitable works for veterans and injured service personnel, support patriotic education of our youth, you name it, if it involves honoring those who’ve served, including keeping the Phelps creeps away so families can mourn with dignity, they do it.
Look you arrogant sociopath, You missed my point completely. I said it the way it was meant to come across. You brag about killing or being denied the pleasure. You are no true Combat Veteran and are an embarrassment to those who are.
I that clear enough English for you?
Thank you - I had no idea they were involved in so much!
Yoo hoo, got you mad. You are so pathetic. Reduced to calling a combat vet a liar because your girlishness. I am an honorably discharged USMC combat vet, and you were never even in the boy scouts, you loser.
I realize there is a lot going on here, but how about we all take a deep breath, step back and let this go? As a tribute to those who have served and are serving, can we shake hands and just stop the infighting? Please?
Nah! This is probably more your speed:

“...because your girlishness.”
Now you are using sexual orientation as an argument. Losing your control of proper English grammar. Sounding a bit hissy. You have just lost the debate - just because somebody made you mad.
