Obama: Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs Spur Latino Hate

Presidential candidate Barack Obama used a Florida fundraiser to attack conservative media personalities Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh for their militant stand on immigration policy.

Appearing Thursday at the Westin Diplomat near Fort Lauderdale, Obama lashed out at critics of illegal immigrants and migrant workers.

During his speech, Obama said, "A certain segment has basically been feeding a kind of xenophobia. There’s a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year.”

Who is behind the rise in hate crimes?

Obama left no doubt who he believes to be the culprits. “If you have people like Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh ginning things up, it’s not surprising that would happen,” he told the crowd.

According to press reports, Obama collected more than $500,000 from some 800 donors at the event.

Limbaugh is not even huge anti-immigation. It is hardly an issue Limbaugh brings up except when they were trying to push through amnesty. Now Lou Dobbs, that is about all he talks about. It is the issue every broadcast is centered around.

Exactly, he and his wife are black seperatists and yet they try to claim the moral high ground on behalf of the illegals.

Losers the both of them.

Nice try Barry, but many of the Latino immigrants in south Florida are middle-to-upper class and have no use for the "La Raza Comica" mestizo cholos that you are trying to reach.

If Barry can't get the Jews in Palm Beach/Broward/Miami-Dade, or the non-Cuban Latinos to turn out for him (particularly the Ricans in the Orlando area) he is DONE in Florida.

“Obama: Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs Spur Latino Hate”

This must be another one of those vast differences between Obama and McCain that I keep hearing about.

“their militant stand on immigration policy.”

What is their MILITANT stand on immigration? Putting troops on the border? Where is the militancy in their stance?

Michael Savage has said put troops on the border. Kinky Friedman might have pledged to put troops on the border.

THAT would be militancy (although entirely legal and an authorized use of our forces to defend our border against illegal invasion).

"No wonder working-class and middle-class whites won't vote for him."

Unfortunately the working-class and middle-class whites are increasingly growing smaller is population while illegal-class, uneducated non-working-class, and the welfare-class are growing in population. Soon the only thing a politician will have to do to gain office is to promise free stuff... which is basically already happening.

Can you imagine a politician today coming out and saying: "My platform is to get all Americans working and working harder and to take full responsibility for themselves."

Hmmm... Just about all of my hispanic friends who spent a lot of time and money to come to the US legally are equally upset with illegal immigrants. Are they latino haters as well?

What's a hate crime?

And what percent of such reported crimes are false reports?

Also, did he quote statistics to back up his claims that so called ‘hate crimes’ against hispanics are up? Is this even true? This is how liberals operate you know, because they know their supporters are too vapid to actually check what they spew as ‘fact’.

Obama is an idiot. Pandering to the poor, "La Raza" crowd may work in Cali/AZ/IL, but it will NOT work among the Cubans and South Americans, many of whom are racially white, btw, in South Florida.

I lived in heavily hispanic nabes in South Florida for several years, and never heard the "victim" card being played.

"A certain segment has basically been feeding a kind of xenophobia.

Yes. That would be the Left, in the news rooms and in political office.

They insist on pounding away at the charge that opposition to illegal immigration is rooted in racism. This naturally inspires a xenophobic paranoia among hispanics, who are told repeatedly that they are hated for their color.

They are never told that America loves immigrants. They are never told that America accepts a million legal immigrants a year, a million each and every year, and they are never told that Mexico has pride of place as the number one preferred source of those immigrants. They are never told that Mexico has the single largest quota out of every country on this earth; no other country even comes close to Mexico's quota.

They are never told that. So if this constant propaganda drumbeat succeeds in arousing xenophobic paranoia among immigrants, it is not an accident, it is by design. It is intended to have an effect at the ballot boxes. It is intended to make the idea of voting Republican seem like treason to your race.

Its a racial appeal, in other words. Coming from DNC activists and mouthpieces, its not a surprise. The DNC is the party of race politics, the party of ethnic manipulation, the party of group-think. Its who they are.
