A South Carolina high school principal said he'll resign from his post after the district approved an organization for gay students that conflicts with his religious beliefs.
Eddie Walker, the principal of Irmo High School in Columbia, S.C., announced his intention to step down to faculty and students on Wednesday, saying he'll end his tenure following the 2008-09 school year. The decision, outlined in a letter to Lexington-Richland School District 5 officials, said the reason was the formation of a Gay-Straight Alliance Club for students.

Awesome man for being so convicted in his beliefs. If only more educators could make this kind of point, maybe the minority pushing homosexuality would get pushed down!
***The only other recourse would be to ban all non-curricular clubs, officials said.***
Too bad they didn’t do that! The students and parents would be so mad that they’d demand the end to any discussion about the gay club.
A man of integrity!
The latest crock about comparing gay groups to making slaves of the blacks is just that-a crock. The blacks had no choice, the gays do. The blacks believed in the bible, the gays do not.
‘shooting club’
Come on that would involve using one of your rights. You can’t have that in a ‘no gun zone’.
My father was ordered to become the advisor for the club when he taught high school. His students brought their guns to school with them on the bus when they had a match. They often worked on them in shop class.
I suggest an anti-gay club and a straights only club!
Now you’re thinking!
And a Whites club and a boys-only club where they whine about their girlfriends ...

Come out to Nevada and your wishes are granted.
I'd happily be the advisor of the "Guys Who Appreciate Vagina and Breasts Club".
would like to see someone open a target shooting club.
To heck with target shooting, I’d like to see a hunting club.
How about a heterosexual sex club?
Well, I’ve left you all alone with a perfectly good article, and you’ve all gone totally silly.
***I would like to see someone open a target shooting club.***
OHHHHHHHH, I like your thinking.
OH, oh, no, WAIT! They’d say you can’t do that because the lead in the bullets contaminate the ground, and cause global warming. I’m not kidding. It happened near where I live. (Of course, the developers moved in with a plan to use the gound for condos, restaurants, and shops, which will bring more taxes for the town.)
Hell, I’d like to use that excuse to form a school club advocating the non violent overthrow of this government and the imprisonment of these liberal trash as traitors to the American ideals that were enshrined in the Constitution.
See how they like that one.
He's probably very right. High schoolers are getting enough of this thrown at them without the aid of a special little club. Bless him for sacrificing his job for his moral convictions.
In 1975 we wanted to form an Italian Student Union and were told that would be illegal. We said, “But there’s a Black Student Union.” And they told us “that’s different. Now there’s a Gay/Straight Alliance that’s treated by Moonbat teachers as the best thing that ever happened to the school. There is however no Straight Underage Sex Club. That’s “different”.
A few years ago I tried to start a Pro-Life club in a school right here, in SC. The school "aborted" the club before the first meeting.
