US elections: Barack Obama juggernaut 'will crush John McCain'
Telegraph.co.uk ^ | May 21, 2008 | Toby Harnden in Des Moines, Iowa

Senator Barack Obama has established a battle-tested 50-state grassroots organisation and fundraising “juggernaut” that will crush John McCain in November, according to his senior advisers.

With the Illinois senator declaring himself “within reach” of the Democratic nomination after achieving a majority of the pledged delegates - those allocated by vote - on Tuesday, his campaign has already pivoted to preparing for the general election against Mr McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee.

Although publicly heaping praise on Hillary Clinton, Mr Obama’s Democratic rival, and carefully avoiding putting pressure on her to drop out before the final states vote on June 3rd, the Illinois senator’s staff is impatient to launch a full-scale offensive against Mr McCain.

I don’t think John McCain realises what he’s in for,” said one adviser. “We’ve created a juggernaut,” said another, “and it’s going to overwhelm him.”

I said it before, and I'll say it again, America will not elect somebody whose middle name is Hussein! (Hope I'm right in November!

Bold talk for an Islamist appeaser. He couldn’t even crush Hillary Clinton, I doubt if he will crush McCain especially given the demographics of his support at the moment.

LOL, will there be suicide bombers in this "juggernaut"?

The only crushing we'll see in November is this Muslims militant ass.

The problem with Obama (Barak and Michelle), his supporters, and his advisors: they’re loosed lipped, they’re arrogant, and they have no restraint when they’re talking/giving interviews, etc. It will eventually lead to his failure as a candidate, IMHO.

Well well, Obambi’s historic “juggernaut” just lost Kentucky by 35 pts. and Indiana by 40 pts..... when he was already supposed to be the overwhelming favorite (nationally) and practically annointed as the nominee. Sure he can say the demographics were poor for him in those two states, but it’s still not exactly an awe-inspiring performance.

Forgive me if I’m not too impressed yet.

I would like to know who is investigating all this record-breaking Internet fundraising — is there any real control or check on where these hundreds of millions of dollars are coming from?? Can anyone actually prove that there are not a bunch of Soros-bot programs somewhere cranking out donations for Obambi?

Thank you. BHO is barely squeaking out wins against Hillary in red states with large black populations and getting crushed by Hillary in red states with small black populations.

The media loves this "unifier". He can't even unify his party of nut job liberals. Technically Obama has 1/4 of the vote, Hillary has 1/4 of the vote and McCain has 1/2 of the vote.

By the way, McCain had his arms ripped out of his sockets and his teeth knocked out by Communist and now he is on the verge of becoming President, I doubt this sissy has anything that can overwhelm him.

And Rove, as I understand it, has that nifty little videotape of Michelle at the Pulpit howlin’ against Whitey. Nobama has no idea what’s about to hit him from the RNC if he’s out there campaigning.

This week, his backpedalling alone on the danger of Iran is a week’s worth of soundbites. Plus his whining every time he’s attacked. Oh, and that Hamas endorsement.

Yeah? Wait until the country gets to see them in a debate together. Wait until McCain starts to sh!t hammer him on his appeasement and foreign policy ignorance. His hypocritical and doubletalking statements about Iran and dealing with our enemies.

If the Obamaites think that his flubs or his Rev. Wright issues are going away, they're nuts. We're a long way from the fall. You'll see what a "juggernaut" is when Obama loses big time.

Right. There are a lot of Hitlery supporters who will vote for McCain. They hate the DNC and what they perceive it has done to Hitlery and want her in 2012.

Unless Mc Cain screws up badly, he will win against Obomination.

Let’s see, he lost 5 out of the last 7 states. I guess his juggernaut only works with people that don’t know anything about him.

Yeah, the 50 state "juggernaut" that lost WV and KY by over 30%+ margins against a bankrupt candidate that had already numerically lost nomination...

If we were running an actual conservative this year I would give Obama less than 5% chance of winning. But since it's McCain, I'll give Obama a 25% chance in the general...

Talk about whistling past the graveyard.

Barack Mohammed (since we are no longer to refer to his given middle name) Obama, Jr., the charismatic, messianic Magic Negro, is also at the same time the emptiest suit in town.

Jimmy Carter redux, he would take our SUVs and the control of our thermostats away from us “for our own good”, a phrase that has been dropped elsewhere by other purveyors of the same snake oil.

Plus, there is a huge simmering resentment in this country, one or the other of two diametrically opposed groups are going to be BADLY disappointed by how the DNC and the Superdelegates are going to decide in Denver this August.

What role, if any, is Bob Barr going to play in this election in November? He can’t win, of course, but he could very much act as a steering correction for the course the nation is now set upon for at least the next four years.

Only, the corrections, if any, would be negative. By attracting large enough protest vote, the election could be effectively denied to John McCain. If McCain could attract large enough vote in spite of the presence of Bob Barr, then he would NEVER be beholden to what he considers the “conservative” wing of the party.

Especially so if he were to reach out to disappointed Democrats, say like Joseph Lieberman (not really a Democrat any more, but not a traditional Republican either), or nightmare possibility, a spiteful Hillary Clinton, who might just join forces with John McCain in a “fusion” ticket that would confound and greatly disorientate any number of lifelong Democrats.

Not to say what that would do to the Republican core, the center-right conservative wing. They will have the warmest hands in the country, for they shall be sitting on them, at least in the Presidential selection. The top of the ticket will have not much traction with the remainder of party posts to be filled.

Who knows, it might be the best thing ever that has happened to America.

Is that the rustle of pigs taking flight I hear?

The “whitey” video sounds like a red herring. It sounds like political posturing — like the rumors about Clinton’s Lewinsky testimony. Before the deposition video came out, people were going crazy about how Clinton lost his temper and how the video would end his presidency. Then it came out and there was nothing overly embarrassing on the tape.

This could be a psyops program trying to make the right overplay its hand. Bloggers go on and on about how racist Mrs. Barak Hussein Obama is, but when the video is played, it isn’t very bad.

I think McCain will probably beat Obama, but let’s get realistic, it won’t be a cake walk.

McCain is not a good debater. (Obama isn’t a good debater either.) McCain hems and haws, gets confused, gets his facts mixed up - remember the Shiite, Sunni confusion?

He will need to win back true conservatives, plus attract independents and disaffected Dems, a hard fence to straddle, but McCain can probably do it, he’s had a lot of practice.

The so-called Sunni, Shia confusion was not ignorance so much as it was ignorance on the part of the press and public. Iranian Intelligence has for years trained Sunni terrorists when it was thought to be a tactical advantage to do so. This has included Al Qaeda members on numerous occasions.

I agree. McCain comes across very poorly. He mumbles, he stumbles, he forgets what he’s talking about, and then he lets out that weird little chuckle that passes for a laugh at inappropriate times.

Right now the spotlight is not on McCain. But when it is, the American public is going to see a man that appears to be somewhat senile and not very knowledgeable. He has a lousy persona and isn’t very inspiring

He could VERY easily lose this election to Obama, who doesn’t say anything but says it with style. He is a excellent orator.

Obama has the same kind of ability that Ronald Reagan had in connecting with people: he inspires people and makes them feel positive about themselves and our country.

His positions (what little we know about) may be all wrong, but given the American Idol mentality of a huge percentage of voters, that may not hurt him at all.
