Sometime in the wee hours of the morning, it happened:
.....
Democratic leaders were forced to jettison provisions to award work permits for immigrant farm labor and seasonal workers just hours after beginning debate Tuesday on legislation to add domestic programs to President Bushs war request.

I think they killed AGJOBS because Menendez said "too little to help immigrant wonkers." Amnesty and citizenship arent enough? They'll be back again.....

The Democrats are not going to pass amnesty unless they can hang it on the necks of republicans as they did with Reagan.

I’ve been getting e-mails from a couple GOP sites that have been asking folks to bombard the boneheads in DC to scrap this BS farm bill and I think it worked.
Totally dispicable and sneaky but what else should we expect from these professional politicians in DC.
Chalk this up as a win for the masses.

If the Republicans had any stoned, they would offer amnesty to 1.4 million farm workers in return for:
- Elimination of ballots in all languages other than English or Native American languages.
- Elimination of counting "Hispanics" as a separate category for census or affirmative action purposes. Hispanic is not a race, it is a Romance language group. We do not have separate classifications for Italians, Portugese, Francophones or any other language group. There is supposed to be equal protection of the law and all that, isn't there?

Doctor and fiancee are in a car accident.

Brings her to his mad scientist lab (of course) and brings the head back to life.

Sen. Robert Menendez, a Democrat, objected to the immigrant farm labor provision, added to the measure at a hearing last week by Sens. Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat, and Larry Craig, a Republican. It would allow almost 1.4 million immigrant farm workers to stay in the United States for up to five years . . . Yep, five years, every time they try to push an amnesty. It never fails.

Actually, Roy Beck of NumbersUSA has just written us with a request to keep calling our senators:
"Unfortunately, the H-2B low-sill worker increase is still in the Iraq Supplemental so your phone calls are still needed. . . . Please keep phoning your Senators throughout the day and ask them to strip the H-2B increase from the Iraq Supplemental spending bill."
Please, please, please: All those reading this thread, call your senators. We need to keep the pressure on, and I've been giving my duplicitous senators hell for a long time and plan on calling several more times today. It is the least we can do besides contributing to FAIR and NumbersUSA.

Yes, and thank you! So often we spend more time whining about matters instead of acting on them. My two senators are Hutchison and Cornyn, vile creatures with five talking mouths apiece. Thank goodness this is her last term lest she continue to damage Texas and our country! As for Cornyn, well, he is nothing but a wannabe president who occasionally throws a token at us conservatives.

Even though it provides amnesty, and a path to permanent resident and citizenship, he wanted to kill the bill because it was "too little to help immigrant workers." Maybe he wants the government of Mexico to take control of the USA? Actually, in certain ways that is as good as true.

This just in from FAIR:
"However, Senate sources tell us that the Mikulski H-2B amendment - an amendment that could lead to hundreds of thousands of new unskilled H-2B guest workers flooding the labor market in only a few years - is still in the Iraq War Funding Bill. This is because the Iraq War Funding Bill is being considered in two parts and point of order raised by Senator Menendez only applied to the first part. The H-2B provision is in the second.
"Please keep calling your Senators until Democratic Leadership strips this final special-interest immigration amendment from the Iraq War Funding Bill! Tell them that you oppose importing tens of thousands of new unskilled (H-2B) guest workers to appease corporate interestsand especially when the economy is struggling.
"We heard throughout the day that your calls put intense pressure on Senators across the country. One staffer told us that the phones were "lighting up like a Christmas tree." Please help us make sure Congress looks out for the American people and not special interests.

I'm trying to imagine what Menendez wants. Menendez wants the works; unconditional amnesty, complete immunity from all past crimes, free college educations, social security benefits, expedited family chain visas. And that's just for starters, I'm sure his brain is cooking up some more goodies that he believes illegal aliens are entitled to.
To: Liz
--------rest assured, they'll be back. Rule #1 in the Dem playbook: Keep coming back again and again until you wear down your opponent. Out last them and you win in the end. And if that doesn't work then beat them with the process of INCREMENTALISM. That's the core method Dems have used to defeat conservatism. Conservatives need to adopt their method here.
