Preparing for confrontation: Israel is preparing for the possibility that efforts to secure a lull agreement vis-à-vis Hamas will fail, prompting the IDF to embark on a wide-scale military operation against Gaza terrorists.
Senior officials in Jerusalem said Tuesday night that following the planned meeting in Cairo between Egyptian Intelligence Chief Omar Suleiman and Hamas representatives, as well as members of other Gaza terror groups, the National Security Cabinet is expected to decide whether Israel will be heading to a ceasefire or embarking on a military operation.

add me to your PING list please ... I know that it may be unofficial but this is important. Thank you ..
A show military operation is what we will get followed by the mext missile barrage from Gaza.
The fake toughness is wearing thin.
And don’t forget there may be an indictent of Olmert soon.
A military operation could divert attention from the indictment. Bill Clinton bombed Iraq when he was impeached.
Rinse, repeat....nothing accomplished.

unfortunately, this situation with Hamas looks to have been put on the backburner with the renewed “peace” talks between Israel and Syria. Olmert is a political animal looking to save his own hide. He is taking a lot of heat for not doing enough to protect the communities around Gaza and also in the middle of a corruption scandal. So what does he do? He deflects all of this by announcing “peace” talks with Syria.
