Back In The Saddle Again on Armed Forces Day: Week 24 – Westminster, MD 5-17-08

ARMED FORCES DAY

MAY 17, 2008

I would like to take a moment to thank all of our brave men and women
who have served and currently serve in the Armed Forces.
We take pride in standing up for you and showing our support.
It is the least we can do for the true heroes
that protect and defend our freedom
and enable us to live in the great USA!
From the bottom of our hearts - THANK YOU!

After a 2 week absence due to prior commitments and a Festival in Westminster, we were Back In The Saddle Again to Support Our Troops! We, included [Mr] Trooprally and I but that was enough to garner support and appreciation from the citizens of Westminster. It was a beautiful yet windy day. [Mr] T and I had to hang on tightly to our signs and flags. Everyone could see the flags waving very well though! Drivers, bikers and passersby passionately beeped, waved and gave many thumbs up in steady streams. Firefighters in their fire truck, the routine mailman who drives by and always smiles and a police officer all waved as they passed us. Also, quite a few salutes from the true heroes whom we support. [Mr] T spotted a soldier in his Army camos driving by. Another one saluted us 2 times. We could tell by his 2 salutes, how appreciative he was and we were touched. Instinctively, [Mr] T and I simultaneously saluted this particular veteran.

One soldier stopped his car for a minute to thank us for being there. He said somebody has to support them and was surely glad we were. Another soldier walking by really let us know his appreciation. We thanked him for his service to our country and told him it really meant a lot, especially coming from our troops. A very tall lady expressed her gratitude and was quite upset when talking about the moonbats. Obviously, she has seen them before! A mom of a Marine, now Reserves (Active Duty), was happy to see us Supporting Our Troops and her son. We told her to thank her son and wish him good luck.

Sure felt good to be Back In The Saddle Again in Westminster! Hopefully, there will be more of us next time. If you find the time, come on out and join us. There’s always plenty of patriotism, good conversation and most of all, support for our fine soldiers!

EVERY SATURDAY 1-3pm
Please join us if you can. We especially need extra boots on the corner, on the 2nd and last Saturday of each month, when we counter protest the moonbats. The Westminster Gathering/FReep is located on the east side of E. Main Street opposite the library at 50 East Main Street. There is public parking on Winters Street. Follow the signs.

Late D.C. Chapter Master Ping List.

ALL - Sorry about the late ping. Have to use my dial-up since wireless connection is acting up. My time in the ether net has been limited.

RockerMom - nice AAR for just the two of us. Looking back, I didn't realize how much support we had gotten until you posted it. And I was there. People just kept coming and going and talking or waving or saluting, that it kind of all ran together.

Westminster is a great place to FReep. Lots of patriots up there.

[Mr] T

Thanks [Mr] T! Glad my memory served me correctly and without my notepad! It was a nice stream of patriotism and Westminster is a great place to FReep. Thanks for joining me.
