US President George W. Bush intends to attack Iran in the upcoming months, before the end of his term, Army Radio quoted a senior official in Jerusalem as saying Tuesday.
The official claimed that a senior member of the president's entourage, which concluded a trip to Israel last week, said during a closed meeting that Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney were of the opinion that military action was called for.
However, the official continued, "the hesitancy of Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice" was preventing the administration from deciding to launch such an attack on the Islamic Republic, for the time being........"

There are times and places that segments of Israel and its media wind up lending credence to Ron Paul, Pat Buchanen and anyone else who thinks that the US bends over for Israel.
If we do, then lets “shock and awe” for real this time ... absolutely flatten every Iranian Revolutionary Guard base, port and asset.
...and if we’re going to have a “war for oil” maybe we should actually take some this time, huh? Because if the left is going to accuse you of it, you might as well...
I pray it is true, but frankly, W does not have the cajones to do this...
If this is true, I don’t see it being a good thing. With our compulsion to avoid messy wars where lots of people are killed and a lot of stuff gets broken, with that, we won’t get into it with Iran.
Neither do I.
I think you’re right. The baton will be passed to the next runner.
It is a load of crock.
Well, yeah...not saying by whom. What would the odds be of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid signing on to this? I'd put the odds at a negative number. If the Israelis don't act, nobody will.
If Likud takes over in Israel, we won’t have to wait that long. The Jews will take out Iran’s nuke production — just as they did before.
The only downside to that is that it might trigger Armageddon and/or the muzzies might torch the oil fields in a perverse scorched earth frenzy. They ARE nuts, you know.
It’s funny that many of us feel W doesn’t have the cojones to bomb the hell out of Iran..................... and guess who thinks the same as us?!? Ahmanutjob!!!
But I’ll say this: Saudi Arabia isn’t being very cooperative right now because we won’t bomb Iran. And many others in the region are upset for the same reason. They’re scared that if Obama wins that Iran will get all sanctions dropped or ignored, they’ll take over southern Iraq, and build nuclear bombs.
W will always be known as being pressured by the left to cower to Iran if he leaves office without dealing with Iran.
I don’t think so.
Given Iran’s behaviour, it would be a justified, mind you. But I don’t think so. Our military is too stretched and too invested in counter insurgency in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Also, if President Bush were planning operations against Iran, he would need permission from Congress - “authorization to use force” or, better yet, a declaration of war. The odds of getting those are less than none...
What took em so long?
Bush could be thinking, what do I have to lose? He can’t get more unpopular. His legacy cannot be tarnished more by bombing Iran.
Not buying this.
If the Obamanation wins the WH in November, Bush will have a very small window of opportunity to take care of business. Once he’s in, you can say goodbye to any military action.
If McCain wins it will be unnecessary, unless Iran is proven to be on the verge of deliverable nuclear arms.
Ahem...the world (UN) will not do diddlysquat to stop Iran. USA and Israel should team up and take out the monkey man's regime and weaponry. When GWB finishes his term Israel is on her own even if McCain gets elected IMO.

I think that would be a strategic Master Stroke. If only he would...!
MOVE ZIG!
FOR GREAT JUSTICE!
Bush 41 was supposed to go start a war somewhere ... only in his case as an October surprise so that he wouldn't be voted out of office.
Is this going to a SURPRISE attack?
Drudge had a screaming headline about this about 20 minutes agoits gone now. How come?

He sobered up?
If I remember correctly there were some democrats who stated that the USA should have attacked Iran instead of Iraq.
Totally agree with that and still do although I don’t trust Dems nor always believe what they say either including spineless RINO’s. Iran has participated in killing our soldiers and fostering terrorism along with nuclear bomb preparations. The time to act is NOW.
The dems would love that move. It is they that have run with this rumor for at least a year. They dream of it. Lust after it, want it to be true. They will be disappointed in their desire.
And if the next runner is the Obamination he will take it and run in the opposite direction
If we do, then lets shock and awe for real this time ... absolutely flatten every Iranian Revolutionary Guard base, port and asset.
They may not have the greatest weapon systems and we can be proud of being able to destroy them quickly, but this will in no way mean we have a victory. Those in Iran who still hate us are capable of functioning daily with a whole lot more suffering than you or I can appreciate. Plus, we would be dealing with a true insurgency on a scale most do not appreciate one whit.
So, the calculus for victory here is very different from blowing things up and taking over critical facilities.
It took us 5 years in a nation of 28 million to begin to turn things around at great expense. How long will it take to do the same with a nation of 70 million covering a much much larger land area? I happen to have an idea, but I don’t want to tip anyone’s hand, and I am sure the administration is thinking along these lines too. If it works, it will solve a huge number of problems.
I’m not calling for invasion. The Iranian people can be motivated to revolt once the IRG is destroyed - totally and utterly.
Flatten their oil refineries, destroy their pipelines and terminals, mine their harbors, and blow up their railways and rolling stock. th No money, no fuel, no help. All we have to do is sit and wait.
Admittedly, we’ll pay a bit more for gas... but our money will be worth more when put an end to Iranian counterfeiting.
Exactly!
I'm not a military planning expert, but if the following is do-able, it's the plan we should follow, given the average Iranian's pro-American sentiment:
Start with the IRG, only engaging regular Iranian military as necessary to maintain air superiority.
Announce a brief (one day) operational pause, and let the Iranian military and the people know that this is their opportunity to rid themselves of the looney tunes.
If they don't do it, break the miitary. Kill every plane, sink every ship, plink every tank, cluster bomb every troop. Attack major infrastructure--bridges, power plants, etc. Make Iran choose between nationhood and jihad.
HELL YES!!!!!
That would involve a daily onslaught by the Liberal Media and their biased anti-war reporting. But, since Bush doesn’t care about what they think anyway, it would be worth it for the long term.
We might as well start attacking all countries that are a threat or potential threat.
Again? Somebody is trying to keep the speculation alive by posting these articles nearly every day. Why?
One thing is certain. It’s either true, or it isn’t true.
