Campaign '08: Barack Obama plans to lower our standard of living to fight climate change and make the world love us. The last time you may be able to drive your SUV may be to an Obama rally.
"For him to come to Oregon as an environmental president, but his big strategy is to do more drilling and to have a gas-tax holiday for three months, that's a phony solution," Obama said.
Well, increasing domestic drilling and lowering taxes, even temporarily, doesn't sound too bad to us. Obama may prefer having a home where the caribou roam. But McCain's plan is better than being the only industrialized nation putting expensive oil into the ground instead of taking it out while burning food in the form of corn-based ethanol in our gas tanks.
Obama's support of ethanol subsidies, which McCain opposes, and opposition to domestic oil production contribute to the rising price of both food and fuel both here and abroad. But Obama has even bigger ideas, such as repealing the Industrial Revolution.
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times . . . and then just expect that other countries are going to say, 'OK,' " Obama said. "That's not leadership. That's not going to happen."

at the risk of being redundant, “The Audacity of Malaise.”
Yeah, apparantly we gota check with China if we can keep our thermostats at 72 degrees year round......
Spoken like a true dictator.
The Audacity of all this Audacity

Socialists never want this country to excell at anything.Makes their socialist systems in places like Europe look bad.So the plan is to at least drag this country down to that level.
Good grief, what a picture.Makes me want to hold a Cross in front of myself.
Get rid of your 1.6 million dollar home and ride in a tuk tuk and then maybe we’ll talk you arrogant gasbag.
If Obama gets in Carter will look like Reagan .....
Most of the world is free because of us and we have bailed some countries out of trouble time and time again.
America is lavish because she deserves it. We are the shining city on the hill. Americans who fought and died for others, are interred in the soil of many nations.
If we diminish, so does the rest of the world.
Both of the Obamas seem so, what is the word...ah! yes, “bitter”.
WHAT YOU TALKIN ABOUT WILLIS?
Hey Obama! Your wife is a nasty, ungrateful, angry snot.
And a first class whiner.
“For him to come to Oregon as an environmental president, but his big strategy is to do more drilling and to have a gas-tax holiday for three months, that’s a phony solution,” Obama said.
This guy is a lot of talk.

Barack, I'm gonna kick your ass.
Obama is talking about taking Reagan's shining city on the hill and turning it into a cardboard shack next to a stinking mudhole.
We should follow Brazil’s example and make ethanol from sugarcane, not corn. Sugarcane grows like a weed and by increasing production, “sugarcane farmers” can make money and we can have all the ethanol we need.
I'll give up my pickup and my STI right after Barack, Babs Streisand and their ilk give up their jets/limos/gargantuan houses etc.
Hypofrickincrites.
Reminds me of Aunt Esther.
“Watch it you old fish eyed fool.”
Brazil solved their energy problem by striking the big one. It can grow anything they want and turn it into ethanol and it's all gravy
I guess he wants everybody to have nothing but guns and religion to cling to. I got mine! ;^)
Awesome video:
The same kind of terrorists who support Obama did this:

Never apologize for them.
Never appease them.
Never forget.
Maybe he will finally pull the trigger on the next American Revolution.
Yeah. It would really suck to give him the edge by waiting until he has armies at his disposal, but timing is everything.
No service man or woman would ever follow him
An interesting sentiment, but, service men and women follow orders. That was Hitler's edge.
We are a fractious, argumentative, unregimented, and sometimes violent people.
It has been 143 years since the end of the last revolution.
Well said. And when disaster strikes around the world, who are the first one to arrive with help? Yep, Americans.
...oh, have we missed the schudeled revolution?
I think were tossing apples and oranges.
Certainly, if provoked sufficiently, I trust we can show the world how a revolution ought to be done, but I think you sell servicemen short by attributing disobedience to them so offhandedly.
I figured you'd trip on the verbotten Hitler reference. But if you'd check under the surface even casually, you'll find the question "how could this have happened" isn't sufficiently answered by naming "Germany" as the cause, as if that explains everything. But you will find stories of people who were just doing what they were told to do, like soldiers do. It's not that they were told to annhialate all Jews at once. They were told to harass them. And then to corral them. And then too load them onto trains.
I think I can safely say that I've met sheriffs deputies who derive a great perverse thrill out of playing petty dictator over people without even being ordered to do it.
You fool yourself if you think it's not so.
Small town sheriffs with shiny sunglasses are more stereotype than fact.
Revolutions are not started by the poor; they are started by the thoroughly pissed off bourgeois.
This country's political class is pushing a lot of buttons on the ordinary citizen.
That's all I'm saying.
Many presumptions built into this willful dismissal of that which you wish not to believe.
Statistically, the documented abuses by the law enforcement personnel in the entire State of Florida are chilling. Abuses by judges and lawyers are harder to prove but clearly the system is corrupt from top to bottom. Fairness is the exception, not the rule, and "justice" simply can not be counted upon.
There is no excuse for burying one's head in the sand about such things, but too, it's unpleasant and impossible to fix by worrying and so most people won't think about it, until it happens to them.
And if it happens to a law abiding person half a dozen times in 20 years, then the system is plainly corrupt.
Now, I'm done here, because I can already anticipate sorts of responses you can speculate about that render the presentation of actual events supposedly meaningless, and I think time is too valuable for both of us to bother with that.
Fascim is alive and well in the Florida "criminal" "justice" system, and if you wish to ignore that it is a reality in this day and age, and believe that it can't or doesn't have a foothold where you live, that's your prerogative.
Regards.
Apart from the first two sentences, I cannot disagree with the that post.
