Police are asking bus riders to be on alert after two men were recently robbed at gunpoint.
Both incidents happened at bus stops on Chicago Avenue South; one on 40th Street and the other on 41st Street. That's when two victims came face to face with the barrel of a gun.
Robbery victim Brad Hagberg is a bus stop regular. One morning last week he was waiting at the bus stop when he was confronted by a young man.
"And I turned and as another guy was raising a shotgun, and he said 'You know what to do. Give me everything you got,'" said Hagberg.
They took his new cell phone, wallet and $40 worth of bus passes.
"He pressed the gun up against my chest and started going through my pockets," said Hagberg.
That same night at a bus stop a block away, police say the same two struck again.
"I turned to look as the second gentleman came running up with a shotgun, and demanded my wallet and my cell phone," said robbery victim Leroy Skinner.
Then they searched his pockets for more.
"I kind of just froze. I knew exactly what was going to happen. I knew that if I didn't cooperate I'd get hurt," said Skinner.
Although neither robbery victim was hurt, they were shaken.
"I think it really hit me hard when the police officer had showed up for the police report," said Skinner.
"Once I got back into the house and called 911, then my hands started shaking," said Hagberg.
Police are now beefing up patrols around bus stops.
"With gas prices being so high there are more and more people taking the bus. We need to give people a sense that they are safe at their bus stops," said Minneapolis Police Sergeant William Palmer.
"People who do take the bus like myself really can't afford to be losing any more money," said Skinner.
I have to laugh at these sheep as they continue to get fleeced while they wait for their government to do something about it, like pass another gun control law.
I am surprised they got $40.
They got $40 worth of bus passes.
Hilarious. If I had read the entire sentence, I would have been laughing to hard to respond.

I’m glad you did too!
The obvious plan is to eliminate bus stops .....
GENTLEMAN????....GENTLEMAN????
Like I said....sheep.
I take it these two weren’t leaving the Twin Cities Chapter of Pheasants Forever.
It would be a little more helpful if there were a discription of the perps other than “a young man”, if the police want the public to help out in this matter.
But I guess that is very un-PC of me.
I doubt they’re from Brainerd
So it’s just business as usual in that area, the bus drivers have been complaining about that stuff happening for years. Minneapolis sucks, and they keep letting it happen.
Their crack dealer will be laughing harder than that if they try and use those for a fix.
Well, yes, to call them ass holes or scum of the earth would have been insensitive.
What are the gun laws like in that state?
That’s probably the first thing that should be looked at.
As far as what?
Concealed carry
In Minnesota, with a permit, one may carry a handgun. Open or concealed, your choice. The word “concealed” does not exist in the law. “On, or about one’s person or clothing”.
The problem is......by and large, the folks in these areas where crime is out of control, are LIBERALS. Born and raised. They believe that it is the job of the government to protect them from the bad guys, 24/7. They don’t own guns, let alone carry them. They are terrified of guns and want more gun laws to protect them. The bad guys KNOW this and are taking advantage.
I rarely venture into Minneapolis. When I do, I bring two.
