Obama: Americans Must Do As World Says
Strata Sphere ^ | May 19 2008 | AJStrata

Posted on 05/19/2008 10:27:52 AM PDT by Ernest_at_the_Beach

I know Obama is getting record crowds, estimated as high as 75,000 in Portland, OR.  But is curiosity the same thing as support?  Are these massive crowds going to vote en masse?

Obama Nets Huge Crowd

Obama is a draw, but is he selling liberalism like never before or are liberals simply coming out like never before? Given some of his more ludicrous statements one has to wonder how many Americans are ready for his hard core liberal stances:

Pitching his message to Oregon’s environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to “lead by example” on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.

“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

SInce when is leadership kowtowing down to the world’s biases (usually generated by a malicious and liberal news media)?  America is not killing the planet.  As I noted in another post if you look at where the global warming IS, it is not over the American continents - it is over Asia where most of the human population lives.

Adding a bit more from the Blog :

*****************************************

What Obama is selling is not leadership.  He is selling out America to international opinion.
Are we to gain permission from China or India on what our allocation should be for using our SUVs? Are we suppose to get permission from the UN as to when and how long we can set our thermostats to 72°? This is ridiculous.

See a bit more at the Blog ......

I just got back from Europe, where all of the hotels have gone ‘green’ and you have to notify the front desk if you want your A/C turned on.

When they do turn it on, it only stays on for a certain period of time, a few hours tops. Then shuts itself off again, warranting another call to the front desk.

If you leave your room, it also turns off (you have to put your key in a little slot while in the room for it to work). This also warrants another call to get it turned back on.

Can anyone envision the potential for a Gov’t bureaucracy of A/C controllers? Call this 800 # every time you want the thing turned on. Plus, you’re only allowed a certain number of hours per month. Once you’re out, you’ve gotta buy carbon credits from the approved Gov’t vendor Gore, Inc...don’t worry, we’ll just accrue them into your yearly tax bill of 85% of your AGI.

Think I’m nuts?

"JIMMY CARTER WITHOUT THE RABBITS"

By Scott Johnson

qazwiniobama.jpg

On May 14 Barack Obama held a private meeting at Macomb Community College with Hassan Qazwini. Qazwini is the leader of the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn. Debbie Schlussel describes Qazwini as Hezbollah's most important imam and agent in America.

Obama's meeting with Qazwini came to light because of a brief report in the Detroit Free Press (with the photo above) deriving from Qazwini and his mosque. The Obama campaign has not itself posted any news account or press release regarding the meeting on its Obama News page. A Google News search on "Obama Qazwini" shows that news of the meeting has essentially remained a closely guarded secret.

The Free Press account states that the two discussed the presidential election, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the Iraq war, according to Qazwini. Schlussel asks why "this open anti-Semite and supporter of Israel's annihilation" was afforded the privilege of discussing "the Arab-Israeli conflict" in a private one-on-one meeting with Obama. Perhaps they were discussing what Obama referred to as the "legitimate claims" of Hamas and Hezbollah in his chat with David Brooks.

Schlussel has followed Qazwini's career for the past 10 years, decrying President Bush's meetings with Qazwini during the 2000 presidential campaign as well as in connection with the formulation of his faith-based initiative. Schlussel reports:

Qazwini is very open about his support for Palestinian homicide bombings, HAMAS, and Hezbollah. And he's a good friend of Hezbollah spiritual leader, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah--the man who issued the fatwa to Hezbollah terrorists to murder over 300 U.S. Marines and U.S. Embassy civilians in cold blood. Qazwini's mosque has held rallies and celebrations in support of Hezbollah, and many of Hezbollah's biggest money-launderers and agents in America are his congregants.

When I went undercover to his mosque in 1998, he and others welcomed Nation of Islam chief racist Louis Farrakhan as "our dear brother" and "a freedom fighter." Qazwini applauded Farrakhan's anti-Semitic statements saying that Jews were the "forces of Satan" and that there needed to be a "jihad" on the American people.

Schlussel has more on her 1998 undercover visit to Qazwini's mosque at the time of Farrakhan's visit in her October 2001 post.

Via Gateway Pundit (with thanks to Bill Otis for the heading).

Barack Hussein Obama is the very apex of the anti-American, internal enemy in this country. IMHO, his election as President would be the greatest coup an enemy has ever scored against our nation, and could well turn into the greatest disaster this nation has ever faced.

Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left

And a review:

**********************************

By  Kat Bakhu (Albuquerque, NM United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left (Hardcover)
I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.

It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.

Individual chapters are included on the Patriot Act (I was persuaded that it is a GOOD thing); the democratic flip-flop on Iraq once G.W. Bush implemented what they agreed with Clinton needed to be done; the driving components of the current anti-war movement; as well as chapters on individual personalities who are major spokespeople of the Left. Horowitz covers a lot of ground, and he covers it concisely and clearly. Unholy Alliance is richly informative without ever being boring or plodding.

This book is so illuminating that I simply cannot do justice to it here. I love people who reason so clearly that they help me get my own reasoning clear. Horowitz is just that type of person! In the terrain of mindless clichés (no-blood-for-oil, etc.), he is a breath of real fresh air.

No, you’re not nuts.
As a small business owner, i felt it necessary to attend one of those ‘green economy’ conferences. It was totally anti-captialism.
The green collar jobs they promote is through the EPA, watchman for businesses.
For the inner city, “Replace their handguns with caulk guns”
Of course, to get this started they’re gonna need government mandates (voluntary of course, at first) The Carbon Taxes will end many small businesses. Surcharges on gross receipts don’t sound like much, but 3% off the top is a killer. (They don’t want caps and trades. Some may have more than others and that wouldn’t be ‘fair’)

Put American Business on that Endangered Species list.

So many Ron Paul supporters are going the way of Obama. The support for this man is overwhelming and frightening.

One of the things that keep me from crawling on the ledge (besides the checks and balances of our Constitution) is that this country is racist, and white racists aren’t going to “allow” him to become president if they can help it.

“lead by example” on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

Actually the USA is probably holding its own in new tech, not that the new tech amounts to a hill of beans, but the developing countries are doing fairly well with new tech and will probably go to non-petrofuel cars before the USA does and will export these tech wonders to the USA rather than vice versa.

Conservative American response:
Drive our SUV’s: Si se puede!
Eat lots of food: Si se puede!
A/C homes to 72 degrees: Si se puede!

So let me get this straight, if we eat all the food we want (which we grow ourselves), drive our SUVs and cool our houses, then poor folks in the 3rd world will suffer? How about lets help the 3rd world drive SUVs, eat more and cool their houses!
