La Raza Speech Bad For McCain (He Should Cancel It)

Some angry conservatives will tell you they have a good reason to call the Republican presidential candidate "Juan" McCain. He has alienated many conservative voters with his position on immigration, and he apparently plans to worsen the problem in July with a speech before the National Council of La Raza, the vociferously anti-American and leftist pro-immigration group. As bad as the Democrats are when it comes this kind of blatant pandering, Republicans will, apparently, try their best. Problem is, pandering to radical Hispanics won't help McCain get to the White House, and may likely hurt him among those who will actually vote for him: conservatives opposed to illegal immigration.

"(He Should Cancel It)"Are you suggesting RINO McCain will pass up this chance to take another dump on conservatives?
That wouldn't be "honorable"!

He (Juan) joined the bibulous senator from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy, on the notorious immigration "reform" bill that went down in flames thanks to conservative voters who deluged Congress with angry phone calls and letters. Thus chastened, Mr. McCain claimed that he understood the issue, and that Americans showed him they want immediate immigration reform and border security efforts. But then he confessed he would, as president, sign a similar bill if it landed on his desk. Americans showed him (MxCain) that they wanted immediate deportation of illegal aliens, NOT "immigration reform."
Evidently he does not understand it enough as it very well may soon force him to say such things as Yes sir, President Obama.

No doubt about it, is bad for Mccain to speak before LaRaza. The day he does this he will lose many more voters, that is unless he plans on winning illegal votes.
McCain is a poor politician. I wonder if conservatives all came out and supported this speech before LaRaza, if the maverick might cancel. /s
The GOP has badly botched it this time. Once again we are supposed to accept socialist policies and vote for this fool because of the troops. This is unacceptable. The GOP has stepped over the line.

...pandering to radical Hispanics won't help McCain get to the White House, and may likely hurt him among those who will actually vote for him: conservatives opposed to illegal immigration.Unlikely analysis---why? McCain has consistently received more Hispanic votes than most during his runs for re-election. Blacks going for Obama will drive Hispanics away from the dems. Too late to pander to conservatives.

The GOP has badly botched it this time.
Look, Ladies and Gentlemen, the GOP started "botching" it at the beginning of W's second term. They have no convictions and no vision. Ronnie Reagan is gone. We have to accept the fact that in '08 we are going to take a worse drubbing than we did in '06 and we have no one to blame but the GOP House and Senate members. So.......
Let's all take a deep breath, relax and just ride it out this year; let all the bums get tossed out on their ear for all I care, and let's come back in 2010 with some good Conservative Candidates after the Dems have two years to bring this nation to greater ruination.
What say ye good folks on this fine Sunday morning?

Prove beyond doubt he is the republican political spoiler for the democrat machine, who will so alienate the republican voters they will sit out and the dems will win in a lsndslide. How else am a supposed to view someone who with every syllable and action proves he does not believe or act in any way republican.

It's only bad for us. McCain is actually grabbing the center before ultra liberal Obama gets to the starting line. Politically McCain is "re-branding" the Republican party. Conservatives are out for now, being replaced with Hispanics, who may also hold many Conservative beliefs.
The fact is that politics have moved left. the Dem party of the 40's and 50's is now the Republican Party and the Communist Party is now the Dem party.

.....Too late to pander to conservatives..... This is exactly the ideological breakdown in communication and leadership of which the conservatives are speaking. "Pandering" in the political sense implies asking for acceptance, often based on misleading or unfelt beliefs. In other words, trying to get votes for which no ideological agreement exists.
Yeah, you're right it's too late to pander to conservatives - we only wanted someone who really believes in what we believe. In that respect Mr. McCain totally and abjectly misses the make entirely.

Cancel it why?
He's already shown his judgment is fatally flawed by accepting in the first place.
If he cancels in response to mounting criticism, it won't be because he thinks he made a mistake, but because he believes the angry racists and nativists are stupid enough to swallow some rambling explanation of this act of treachery.
So don't bother canceling your pander meeting this latino supremacist group. We already know you're an open borders elitist, that's not going to change just because you decide the kitchen got a little too hot.

Those on this board who consistently back McCain remind me of Monty Python’s “Holy Grail” routine with the Black Knight, who refused to admit that a limb was cut off each time one was lost.
It seems that every day McCain betrays those backers with some new pandering gambit, cutting them off at the knees, and yet they continue to say “I’ll hold my nose and still vote for him” - i.e. “It’s just a flesh wound!”
In the end The Black Knight was just a head and torso screaming “Come back you yellow bastard! I’ll bite your legs off!” After yet more betrayals those McCainite torsos will be yelling “I’m still gonna hold my nose!”.
The Black Knight was funny, the others are pathetic.
