State falsely accuses 3,000 of child abuse

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services erroneously labeled 3,051 innocent people as child abusers by placing them on the state's official list.
According to a Belleville News-Democrat investigation, 11,473 people have appealed to strike their names from the state record. The list has a 27 percent error rate of parents falsely accused of abuse. Once on the list, people are required to remain there for a minimum of five years.
"They're not all bad, there are good ones," Nick Brunstein reportedly said of state child abuse investigators, "but the bad ones have the power of God, and with the stroke of a pen they can ruin your life."
Brunstein is a former foster parent who won his 2-year fight against DCFS to clear his name after his 11-year-old foster daughter, diagnosed with schizophrenic and bipolar disorder, accused him and his wife, Judi, of physical and emotional abuse. The girl claimed the family harmed her by requiring the children to do chores and homework.
The Brunsteins lost $20,000 in lawyer fees, and three daughters they had planned to adopt, ages 2, 5 and 11, were permanently removed from their custody.

I can only hope that the people singing praises towards the Texas CPS kidnapping of over 400 children will be consistant and praise this action as well. If a state agency puts people’s names out there as bad parents then they must be just that because the state never makes mistakes.

But to hear it here, Texas CPS would never ever ever make a mistake, ever. By and large, as I am told, government does a great job taking care of the children and do their best all the time in these situations. Parents just need to realize that they don't have rights of parentage unless afforded the gift from government folks at the child protection agencies. It is a privilege when the state allows you to keep your child at home. All hail the government. All hail the government.

The girl claimed the family harmed her by requiring the children to do chores and homework.Nothing wrong with her that a good spanking wouldn't cure. As for curing the government, that's a little harder to do.

You're asking for consistency? Naw, the mob won't even see this as they are too busy patting each other on the back for being clever and cheering each other on for being oh so repetitively brilliant while they bash religion and Mormons specifically in the religion forum.

Why didn't I think of that possibility?

I work with parents who have had their kids taken away. Sometimes its justified but by and large any state child protection agency is just another giant unresponsive and soulless bureaucracy.
Bureaucracies exist to consume and consume to exist. They do nothing to solve the problems they were created to solve, and abuse the individual in the exercise of the power of the state.

Careful Fresh Wind! You could be sent to death row for that action considering today's environment. ;O)

Illinois, is this not where the terrorist killers live and are worshiped as gods? The rights of “We The People” have been taken over by the tyrants and dictators of Nazi government, or it could be Communist or just plain old “we the government know that we are the best and you are the scum.”

Thanks. I’ve taken a serious beating at various threads on this web-site in recent weeks for questioning the integrity of the warrant and the wisdom of the “detainment” of the children in the Texas polygamy case.
Big government is big government, no matter the aspect of our lives with which they are interfering.

The workers at the Family Abuse Centers would lose their jobs if there was a shortage of child abuse. It is in their best interest to manufacture cases.

People in Illinois with childrenwho do not believe they are holding those children for the State until the State can make better arrangements should leave Illinois.

It’s a simple equation. You create more cases, the feds give your department more money. That means raises and advancement as you supervise the new hires.

Not a few of us have been called names for questioning texas.
I think the lady who just had the child who had a writ of habeas corpus filed may of seen the way need to file one on all the kids the state then must put up evidence or drop it.
cps said she was under 18 for ever and as soon as the writ was filed they decided she was actually 22 just like she said. May be the only way to force their hand and stop the negative pr campaign the state is running.
