I will ask Congress to grant me the privilege of coming before both houses to take questions, and address criticism, much the same as the Prime Minister of Great Britain appears regularly before the House of Commons.

The size of the Army and Marine Corps has been significantly increased, and are now better equipped and trained to defend us. Long overdue reforms to the way we acquire weapons programs, including fixed price contracts, have created sufficient savings to pay for a larger military. A substantial increase in veterans educational benefits and improvements in their health care has aided recruitment and retention.

The strain on the National Guard and reserve forces has been relieved.

What is this guy smoking?

The United States has experienced several years of robust economic growth, and Americans again have confidence in their economic future.

Really? On what planet?

“Illegal immigrants who broke our laws after they came here have been arrested and deported. Illegal immigration has been finally brought under control, and the American people accepted the practical necessity to institute a temporary worker program and deal humanely with the millions of immigrants who have been in this country illegally.”

WTF? Is he drunk or just stupid ( I know I am being rhetorical ). The American people let it be known on their last attempt at amnesty that we did not want it.

McCain is just as big a liar as Hussein and Hillary. Thank you RINO’s and independents. You have nominated a Democrat to run as a conservative thus giving this country no choice but to elect a socialist ir an idiot.

If they hadn’t broken our laws by coming here, you wouldn’t have to use the adjective “illegal”, Juan.

“...Older workers who accept lower paying jobs while they acquire new skills are provided assistance to make up a good part of the income they have lost. Community colleges and technical schools all over the country have developed worker retraining programs suited to the specific economic opportunities available in their communities and are helping millions of workers who have lost a job that won’t come back find a new one that won’t go away....”

That will go along way for McCain, the rest of the Republican Party should take notice, the bitterness that Globalism has caused far surpasses the Iraq War sentiments.

Hey, come on folks, what do you want the guy to say?

We need someone to actually tell us what they are going to do, and not just offer “hope” “change” “fairness” that we all know are buzz words for true marxist-leninist rule.

No, I don’t agree with McCain on many issues. I think his acceptance of cap & trade & global warming is nuts at best. After his global warming speech I didn’t think I’d vote for him. But after having swallowed a few more rationalizations....

There’s a lot here I agree with in terms of a general direction for our country. Heck, I might be persuaded to vote for him just for his position on health care.

So let’s be real. Maybe he’s sincere and maybe he’s not. With the alternative, we KNOW what we’d get.

So in the future he intends to once again force amnesty down our throats. Some things never change. My hope at this point is a Conservative runs on the third party ticket so I don't have to do a write-in on the Presidential spot.

The United States is well on the way to independence from foreign sources of oil;

Isn't McCain the only Repub Senator who has consistently voted against drilling in ANWAR?

The only way we can become independent of foreign sources of oil is by drilling our own vast oil reserves in Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico, and the continental shelf around the North American continent. The Dept of the Interior estimates that there is enough recoverable crude under the continental shelf alone to last 26 years, but our oil companies aren't allowed to drill it because of the enviro-whackos' influence with Democrats and turncoats like McCain.

Meanwhile, China is busy drilling wells and pumping oil out of the Florida Straits 50 miles from FLorida's coastline and refining it in a Cuban refinery. Are we that dumb, or are our "leaders" criminally insane?

He left out the part about us freezing in our cold, dark homes because we can no longer afford electricity. He also left out the 15% uemployment rate because we “punished” the rich by increasing their taxes. Of course that doesn’t matter because nobody can afford gasoline to drive to work anyway.

Did McCain really say this or is this a bloggist’s writing what he wishes McCain would say? I’m confused.

I want McCain to win as he is the least of the evil that the Democrats have planned for us. I prefer McCain only has one term and doesn’t do much in office other than act to defend us from foreign enemies, protect the homeland and let the free economy solve problems, not government. I don’t want any big McCain projects as his ideas are too close to what harm the Democrats intend.

The Iraq War has been won. Iraq is a functioning democracy, although still suffering from the lingering effects of decades of tyranny and centuries of sectarian tension. Violence still occurs, but it is spasmodic and much reduced. Civil war has been prevented; militias disbanded; the Iraqi Security Force is professional and competent; al Qaeda in Iraq has been defeated; and the Government of Iraq is capable of imposing its authority in every province of Iraq and defending the integrity of its borders. The United States maintains a military presence there, but a much smaller one, and it does not play a direct combat role.

Finally a Republican who's not afraid to say that we won the war in Iraq. And we won it a long time ago.

Many here obviously don’t play chess.

The first part is intended to draw Obama out. To make him quantify his “Change”. We all know that when Obama is off the stage and has to speak to specifics, he falls apart.

The second part is sprinkled with facts that are often ignored. It also lays out accomplishments achieved up to year 2013, are very moderate and can be realized.

In summary

-A challange to Obama to get off the stage and lay out specifics

-Specific facts that speak to already accomplished goals, the positives vs. negatives that Obama will try and manipulate in the absence of facts

-Specific goals to be accomplished by 2013. Clarity for voters and a direct challange to Obama to do the same.

Does McCain agree with Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) stalwarts, many of whom cursed him and his fellow vets? Even to this day they curse the vets.

Their "anti-war," pro-Ho antics kept the Communists' hopes alive, prolonged the war, and cost the lives and limbs of hundred of thousands. They also kept McCain and others in enemy prisons years longer. They were the North Vietnamese Communists' "most valuable guerrillas." Every time he "reaches across the aisle" he likely embraces one of the pukes.

Are their loyalties really any different today?

Or.. knowing how these lying vile creatures behave is he hoping the voters will contrast them with his clean, compassionate campaign? If so, fat chance the MSM employees will cooperate by making the difference known.

GOVERNMENT WASTE

A top to bottom review of every federal bureaucracy has yielded great reductions in government spending by identifying programs that serve no important purpose; and instigating far reaching reforms of procurement and operating policies that have for too long extravagantly wasted money for no better purpose than to increase federal payrolls.

McCain is actually in agreement with the Founder's intentions for constitutional restrictions on federal government spending. So killing two (three?) birds with one stone, here is one reason why we want McCain for president and not Obama or Clinton.

From another post...

Why don't we seize the opportunity provided by the MSM's shoving of Obama down our throats to permanently de-claw the IRS?

This post (<-click), while addressing taxes, helps to explain why government "leaders" like Obama are actually in contempt of the Constitution that they have sworn to defend, foolishly following in the footsteps of FDR's dirty federal spending politics. In fact, the article referenced below shows that Obama is the #1 federal spending proposer in the Senate for '08; Clinton is #2.

Obama, a big-shot federal spender
The people need to reconnect with the Founder's division of federal and state government powers. The people then need to wise up to the major problem that the federal government is not operating within the restraints of the federal Constitution, particularly where constitutionally unauthorized federal spending is concerned.

The bottom line is that the people need to send big-shot, Constitution-ignoring federal spenders like Obama home as opposed to trying to send people like him to the Oval Office. The people need to get in the faces of the feds, demanding a stop to constitutionally unauthorized federal spending while appropriately lowering federal taxes - or get out of DC.

SCHOOLS Public education in the United States is much improved thanks to the competition provided by charter and private schools; the increase of quality teachers through incentives like merit pay and terrific programs that attract to the classroom enthusiastic and innovative teachers from many disciplines, like Teach for America and Troops to Teachers. Educational software and online teaching programs endorsed by qualified non profits are much more widely in use, bringing to the smallest classrooms in America some of the greatest math, English, and science teachers in the country.

This revolution in teaching methods has especially benefited rural America. Test scores and graduation rates are rising everywhere in the country.

Ben Stein seems to be more aware of major constitutional problems with the way that public schools are being run than McCain is, and Ben Stein needs help.

This post (<-click), from a thread concerning Bible legislation for public schools, helps to identify major constitutional problems with the way that our public schools are being run.

JUDGES

Scores of judges have been confirmed to the federal district and appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, who understand that they were not sent there to write our laws but to enforce them and make sure they are consistent with the Constitution. They are judges of exceptional character and quality, who enforce and do not make laws, and who respect the values of the people whose rights, laws and property they are sworn to defend.Border state governors have certified and the American people recognize that after tremendous improvements to border security infrastructure and increases in the border patrol, and vigorous prosecution of companies that employ illegal aliens, our southern border is now secure.

McCain is at best hitting the side of the barn on judges. Judges and their special-interest interpretations of the Constitution are a part of the problem but not the main part.

The bottom line problem with our system is that ignorance of the Constitution and its history is epidemic. Widespread constitutional ignorance is evidenced not only by McCain's part in the McCain - Feingold Act, but also the following links.

http://tinyurl.com/npt6t
http://tinyurl.com/hehr8
The consequence of widespread constitutional ignorance is that judges and people like McCain are unthinking walking all over our constitutional freedoms.

As to how we got into this constitutional mess in the first place...

This post (<-click), while addressing taxes, helps to explain how 10th A. protected state powers got politically repealed when FDR established his constitutionally unauthorized New Deal programs.

In fact, government "leaders" like Obama are actually in contempt of the Constitution that they have sworn to defend because they are foolishly following in the footsteps of FDR's dirty federal spending politics. In fact, the article referenced below shows that Obama is the #1 federal spending proposer in the Senate for '08; Clinton is #2.
