Does the following liberal "attack" ad help or hurt the GOP?
Courage Campaign via YouTube ^

This certainly puts tax cuts in a whole new light!

From a poster on my email list:

Next up: Limousine liberals." Old white guys in a limo whoop it up like Britney Spears, stick their bodies out of the sunroof, and talk about the need to raise gas taxes. ("It's not like a gas tax affects us that much, I don't drive anyway." Cut to close-up of chauffeur, who winces.) Meanwhile the limo cruises through city streets. Ad ends with the car zooming through a puddle and drenching an entire working-class family.

The courage campaign? Who’s their candidate? Must be communist: Anybody else notice the bear and star at the end of the ad?

At least the producers of this video have the courage, the *balls*, and the guts to make a video that sends a message.

Contrast that to the delicate, pussy-footing found in most Republican advertisements, and you can see who has the courage to make a statement.

Remember how the Republicans dropped their pants in hurry, fell all over themselves and groveled when the word “RATS” appeared on the screen for 0.5 seconds, while the word DEMOCRATS scrolled across? Yep, who has the guts, the courage and determination to lead the world? Based upon the advertisements I have seen, certainly not the Republicans.

The Republicans are too cowardly to even show Obama in his speech in which he said he wanted to bomb Pakistan (our ally) in order to get terrorists. I, for one, would like to see a conservative leader who has a spine. I haven’t seen much of a backbone in many years. Ronald Reagan set a fantastic example of a leader with a spine - too bad our ‘Conservative Leaders’ have forgotten what a spine looks like.

It’s supposed to allude to the flag of California...the legislature of which is rapidly heading in that direction.

Well, I gotta give some partial credit. That's the California state flag.

They more resemble CocoNUTS nowadays...tough exteriors, but hollow on the inside

All very true. However, I was more than a little amazed by the actors they chose for their so-called “hit piece.” Did you notice they were multiracial? If that is not a tacit admission that the GOP is making serious inroads into traditional demorat constituencies, I don't know what is.

I saw the ad, apparently if I vote Republican I get a yacht, champaign that flows like water, and hot chicks of various races.

OK, fine I’ll vote GOP.

All the Dems ever promised was a chicken in every pot.

White males are the only group left that the Republicans are “allowed” to smear in ads. If they’re good girls and boys, they may be allowed to add “Tree Hugger” to the next campaign cycle.

Republicans have really painted themselves into a corner. yikes.

With “attack” ads like that, why bother campaigning? Just list your candidacy under the GOP, kick back on your yacht, and then show up for the victory celebration.

Just comes off as dumb to me. Nice of them to show that the republican party is responsible for enabling more blacks on yachts, however.

Frankly, I don’t think there’s an attack ad out there that an hurt the spineless Republicans worse than they have hurt themselves. They have not only put off the 20% - 40% swing voters, they have put off a big chunk of their base.

The deeper we get into this election cycle, the more it starts to look as though the next president will be elected by the lowest voter turnout in history. Conservatives don’t like McCain and Democrats are so deeply divided that whichever gets the nominations, the other’s supporters won’t show up to vote!

White males are the only group that it is perfectly ok for anyone to smear.. thanks to liberals. Been that way a long time.

Is it just me, or am I the only one who sees the unintended humor in the ad???

That is not the way I see it. Leftist whackos stay home, "Reagan Dems" vote McCain, "Country Club Republicans" vote McCain & 50% of conservatives hold their nose and vote against the Commie Obama. The bottom line is that McCain Crushes Obama & the country continues to move left.

So, you’re a McCain guy, huh? I still think there is a long way to go before November. I remain convinced that Hillary has the “fix” in for the convention to steal the nomination from Obama, that’s the only reason I can see for her to remain in the race.

Should Obama actually emerge from the DNC as the nominee, I see him as highly beatable. He has a growing list of negatives and he won’t be able to “charisma” his way out of them. I believe that if he is the nominee, the majority of Hillary supporters will stay home and McCain will get a few crossovers but little support from true conservatives. Only CINOs will drop their reservations about him to vote for him.

While we basically agree that McCain will be the likely winner, I think it will be as the result of low voter turnout and he will win be a margin as narrow (or more narrow) than Bush’s 2000 win. So far, McCain continues to prove that he is anything BUT a conservative and his new “Glowbull Warming” campaign is yet another way for him to turn his back on conservatives who don’t believe the religion of GW.

I most certainly am not! I just see him owning the middle ground in an increasingly liberal country. I am depressed.

Thee and me, brother!!

Actually, I'm disheartened and heartsick over the future of our beloved Republic. America and the rest of the world deserves better!
