Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) Absolutely. Absolutely. I think I would be great. First of all, I know how to behave at weddings and funerals. And I know how to be commander in chief. Id bring a lot of fun to the job. We would rock the Naval Observatory.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) My name has been discussed partly because Im a female and its always nice to balance things in gender Ive discussed it with my kids. My 16-year-old thinks its a fabulous idea because he thinks we probably couldnt find any better residence in Washington, D.C., than the Naval Observatory. Thats the fun part of the question, but I think anybody, if you were seriously asked, I think you have to give it very real and genuine consideration. I dont expect to be asked, but if I were I would give it real and genuine consideration.
Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) Any American citizen, large or small, would be honored to be asked. But I totally expect any of our candidates to have a tremendous list of people. I dont expect to be asked.
Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) It would be flattering, but I dont see how its going to happen and I dont see how I would accept.
Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) If Hillarys the nominee, Barack will be the running mate. If Baracks the nominee, Hillary will be the running mate. Thats my answer.
Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) They can do a lot better than me. I just dont see it happening. I dont know what Id bring to the ticket. Id have to think about it. I dont see how I would add much to the ticket. To give you an honest answer, I dont know what Id do.

Sen. Joe Biden (D-HP) “Sure I’m interested, I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”
What does physical stature have to do with anything?
Well, you know, compared to all those ego-mad dipsticks in Washington, we’re ALL “the little people”....
My point exactly.
I think both party’s ticket have too many senators.
Oddly enough, senators generally don’t win. Usually it goes to a VP or a governor. So what does this mean - since they’re ALL senators?
They’re all losers.
Admiral Moorer was the last CNO to be billeted at Quarters One at the Naval Observatory; and the magnificent historical residence was thereafter assigned to the Vice President.
In my short period as Moorer’s Personal Aide (1967-69, I had the honor of spending many a delightful hour in that superb piece of Naval History; assisting the Admiral and Mrs Moorer fulfill their social obligations — in a most interesting period in American History.
To think that another political hack like Gore would sully that historical treasure with his/her presence make me very, very sad. Thank God I am pressing my eight decade.
I think the biggest travesty involving constitutional amendments was seventeenth amendment calling for the direct election of senators. The senate changed from being a body designed to protect the interests of the state governments against the power of the federal government to a body of cheerleaders for concentration of power in Washingon, DC and expantion of federal power at the expense of the state governments.

I'd be honored
