McCrory will win on the basis of the favorables/unfavorables alone.

But will McCain be an anchor dragging down Republicans in the fall?

“In North Carolinas Presidential race, John McCain holds a modest lead over Barack Obama.
The U.S. Senate race in the state is surprisingly close with Kay Hagan (D) at 48% and Elizabeth Dole at 47%.”
If McCrory is ahead in a poll whose sample was so heavily Democrat as to only give McCain a “modest” lead over Obama and actually has Liddy Dole behind, then he’d probably be ahead by a large margin in a poll without such bias. Of course, it’s still a long road to November.

(Fred Thompson appears human-sized because he is actually standing a million miles away.)
