Glenn Beck's Gun Week-This Week on CNN Headline News Channel
glen beck ^ | 05/12/08 | unk

Posted on 05/12/2008 4:41:08 PM PDT by epow

Fans of the Second Amendment take notice---Glenn will be doing Gun Week all this week on both the television and radio programs. Great guests will come on the air to talk about the thing that makes Rosie O'Donnell cry herself to sleep---the right to own a gun.

Check back at the website all week for audio and video clips from Glenn Beck's Gun Week.

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Culture/Society; Government; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: 2ndamendment; banglist; glenbeck; gunweek
I can't believe a pro-gun, hard core 2nd Amendment supporter like Beck is the host of a pro-gun hour long talk show on Ted Turner's CNN Headline News channel, but it's true. I never thought I would be doing advertising on FR for a CNN channel, but I am. This all seems kinda weird somehow

Something has been weird since he made that move. his constant ranting on the ‘death spiral’ of the economy ties him in a bit closer with the socialists though.

He may be a Mormon, I don’t know for sure. But if he is he’s an outspoken pro-2nd Amendment Mormon, and I’ll bet that all his wives are too. (-:

Me too, he has a large audience. I'll watch at 9 PM EST when he comes on my satellite and see who his pro-gun guests will be. I'm assuming that he will have both pro-gun and anti-gun guests because arguments and controversial guests are the bread and butter of talk shows.

his constant ranting on the ‘death spiral’ of the economy ties him in a bit closer with the socialists though.

Yeah I know, some of his ideas on domestic fiscal policy are not mainstream by any means, and his ideas on international trade policy are a tad on the protectionist side to put it mildly.

Personally, I haven't heard him advocate anything that sounded like socialism to me, and he advocates lowering taxes on the rich and on businesses. But I only watch the first 1/2 of his show and then I switch over to Jeopardy, so I don't see his entire show or hear everything he has to say.

As CNN edges a wee smidgen to the right FoxNews leaps 1/4 mile to the left. I'm not so sure that we're winning ground as fast as we're losing ground.

I agree but I find his constant tirades to be boring. Something doesn’t make sense with a true conservative being on CNN so I’ve been suspicious since he joined them. I can’t watch an entire show but some segments are good.

I also don’t believe CNN would allow a pro gun show.

Caught his radio show this morning with the NRA's Chris Cox - They talked about the absurdity of Bloomberg's attempt to squelch any mention of the 2nd Amendment in the upcoming NYC lawsuit against Adventure Outdoors. They also discussed the huge disparities between Obama's and Hillary's current "pro-second" posturing and their actual voting records. Cox said that the NRA has also had a few differences with McCain in the past, but that they pale in comparison to both Dem candidates.

Beck is the "keynote speaker" at the NRA convention this year - An interesting choice on the NRA's part, considering that he wasn't even an NRA member until very recently.

Also see: “the ends justifies the means.”

I happened to catch this program while channel surfing...I kept blinking, and double checking my remote, couldn’t believe this show was on CNN Headline. Beck made mention of the confiscation of legal, registered firearms from law-abiding citizens after Hurricane Katrina, and how the media has made no mention of it. And how difficult it was for the citizens to get their weapons back afterward. Great show.

"Hold on a minute....isnt he a MORMON?!?!"

Just a little side note. John Moses Browning was a mormon also and I think it's safe to say he was pro second amendment.

I watched Beck's 2nd amendment segment last night and he had Bobby Jindall on who was the one who apparently sponsored the bill against allowing the federal authorities to confiscate weapons during a disaster after Katrina. Jindall was good. It was the first time I have heard him speak though I've heard a lot about him. I think it's crazy that we have to have a bill to prevent the federal authorities from confiscating our firearms, but I guess in 2008 we do. Thank you liberals.

How about that LA governor? I wish my governor was as pro-2nd Amendment as he is, then he would sign the bill that was passed here in GA last month by the state assembly that would greatly improve our gun carry license law by allowing licensees to carry concealed guns in state parks, on public transportation vehicles like the MARTA subway and city buses, and in restaurants that serve alcohol.

Our Republican governor usually supports gun rights, but some of his big contributors such as the GA Restaurant Association are against this bill and he's trying to avoid making either side mad. That won't work, and one side or the other is going to be disappointed. I'm just hoping that the 300,000 Georgia voters who have gun carry permits will have more influence on his decision than a few hundred restaurant owners who contributed money to his campaign.

“Let’s see...believes in the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, believes in Christ our Lord as Savior and you don’t think that’s Christian? Mormons ARE Christian ! Just not Your brand of Christians, I guess.”

This thread isn’t a debate on Mormonism. It only went that direction after someone called beck a Mormon in a derogatory manner.

Mormons believe Joseph Smith was a prophet among many other things different than the Bible. Just because someone calls themselves a Christian it doesn’t mean they are. Obama’s pastor calls himself a Christian and he certainly doesn’t act like one.

“As I said, he claims to be Christian,”

Claims?

You doubt this?

Is a catholic a christian?

Is a presbeterian a christian?

Is a lutheran a christian?

Is a protestant a christain?

Is an evalngelical a christian?

Is a baptist a christian?

Is a Mormon NOT a christian?

Do you even understand the term?

Are YOU a christian?..or just claiming to be one?

“I don’t really know though.”

Then why do you bring it up several times?

“He does seem to be a conservative”

LMAO...SEEM?...you claim to watch and listen?

He is VERY conservative...a hell of alot more than McCian..

“but I’m still trying to figure out why he made a deal with CNN.”

*shrug*....why dont you call and ASK him....

“Kinda like oil marrying water.”

I called him a Mormon...and if you thought it was derogatory..I question your reading comprehension...

I’m HUGE fan of glenns...have met him in person...gone to his christmass shows..and called in several times...

The reference was to beat the mormonazi’s (anti-mormons) to the punch...

I guess I need to post the definition every time I use the term until it catches on...

Mormonazi:
MOR-MAN-NOT-SEE

Noun;

People obsessed with Mormons, Utah, Polygamy...

The giving up of rational thought, rule of evidenciary law and embracement of fascist tenancies in an effort to stamp out a religion they see as a cult.
