“But the Missouri Supreme Court struck down the photo ID requirement as an unconstitutional burden on voting rights.”

Only “legal minds”, could come to that laughably ridiculous, anti-real world conclusion.

From Yahoo News.

Yet Stevens wrote that the law does not single out groups of voters for different treatment. "We cannot conclude that the statute imposes 'excessively burdensome requirements' on any class of voters," he said. That opinion suggested the outcome could be different in a state where voters could provide evidence that their rights had been impaired. Indiana provides IDs free of charge to people without driver's licenses.

It may be helpful to states that wish to implement voter ID laws to furnish ID's free of charge. It could eliminate claims of discrimination, even though such claims are ridiculous.

SCOTUS just ruled that photo ID was NOT an unconstitutional burden on voting rights. I think the Missouri Supreme Court has already lost this battle.

Well, I don’t think it would matter what the Missouri Supreme Court thinks since the REAL Supreme Court decided that the Indiana law (which the Missouri law seems to be identical to)was perfectly constitutional.....

Hey, we can’t let St.Louis and East St. Louis lose the vote fraud title. There’s lot of competition out there.

Mostly from Democrat controlled cities.

Dems treat voter ID cards like vampires treat stakes or sunlight.

The only problem I see in MO with this is that State ID is not free. That would change the whole equation becuase the case before the SCOTUS was for a state that issues them for free. Then you get into the whole “poll tax” thing.
It really is the only answer to the fraud that goes on in St Louis. Its just incredible. The first mistake of W’s administration was appointing Ashcroft so he wouldn’t fight the election that he lost because of fraud here in StL. They were trying to get along and look what it got ‘em.

Not that voter ID cards would be too difficult to obtain anyways

I still say a social security card with a magnetic validation strip built in should be required when voting.

It's a piece of ID every legit American SHOULD have, and it is also long passed due for that card to be updated and have security features added to weed out all the fake ones out there.

When people vote, swipe the card. it can be instantly validated and would prevent anyone from voting twice in a different state.

Resistance to Voter ID legislation is an infuriatingly transparent effort to facilitate voter fraud. Legislators who vote on it and judges who rule on it know this perfectly well, and they will serve as a barometer of just how corrupt our government has become.

Of course the Democrats would throw up roadblocks. How else with they and their union thugs continue to manufacture fake votes when people are forced to have a photo ID? They’d have to get rid of their motto “Vote early and vote often”.

“That measure required voters to show a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. Those lacking photo identification could get a free one from the state.

But the Missouri Supreme Court struck down the photo ID requirement as an unconstitutional burden on voting rights. It noted the IDs were not truly free, because there was a cost for the birth certificates or other underlying documents people might need to obtain the government-issued identification.”

The ID was free but the stupid judge said it was still an undue burden because they had to pay for birth certificates. Of course, if they need birth certificates for anything else, it wouldn’t be an undue burden. Asshat judges.

In Arizona, the only state that requires proof of citizenship to register, more than 38,000 voter registration applications have been thrown out since 2004. More than 70% came from people who stated under oath that they were born in the United States.......

Goes to show---if invaders break our laws violating our borders, they will brazenly disregard all US laws.

=================================================

Missouri lawmakers are going after a constitutional amendment to require proof of citizenship from those registering to vote...... part of an effort to prevent illegal immigrants from affecting the political process.

These are far more rigorous demands than the voter ID requirement recently upheld by the USSC.....

Proof of citizenship measures are being considered in at least 19 state legislatures. Bills in Florida, Kansas, Oklahoma and South Carolina have strong support.

Arizona (Juan's home state) is the only state requiring proof of citizenship to register..... more than 38,000 voter registration applications have been thrown out since 2004. More than 70% from people came from poeple who stated under oath that they were born in the United States.....

Democrats criticized requirements to include immigration status. “This is having a devastating effect on voter registration in Latino communities because so many citizens simply don’t have a passport or original birth certificate,” said a liberal advocacy group working to sign up new voters in Arizona.

But Arizona officials say the measure is broadly popular..... “The voters of Arizona feel strongly about proof of citizenship when registering to vote as a basic eligibility requirement,” said the secretary of state, Jan Brewer, a Republican, testifying before Congress in March.

We MUST have photo I.D., we must. If it is such a burdon to pay for a birth certificate to get a free I.D. then maybe they can skip their fast food pickups for a few weeks!!

The ‘dims’ want those dead voters.

Pretty good news I just heard from Gov Blunt’s office. He ordered the State Police to look into the prison population in MO and identify any that are illegal aliens....Its bearing fruit, they’ve id’d several hundred already. The bad news is that they have to hand them over to the Feds. If they aren’t disposed of before the next election they’ll probably just get released here again.

Voter ID is that proverbial idea whose time has come-—nothing can stop it.

WalMart or K Mart should get into making these-—for a small fee they would get lots of people into their stores.

That sounds like a good idea but how would they go about verifying people? [probably as well as the government does, lol].

FIVE-PROOFS SYSTEM: Utility bill, property tax bill (if homeowner), IRS return, driver's license, paycheck stub, passport, bank statement, auto insurance card (where compulsory) .... five must match.

Yeah....I think the next time I go through a traffic stop I'll tell the cop that I don't have a photo ID drivers license as it is an "unconstitutional burden on my driving privilages"....

If only the govt would use a good data mining system---they could immediately find duplicates and toss out the fakes.
