John McCain, a Not So Favorable Retrospective (Heavy Graphics)

Well, no full accounting for our men MIA, but least we have normalized relations with Vietnam...

July 11, 1995, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., (right), and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., (center),
gave President Bill Clinton, (left), the valuable political cover he needed to remove the U.S.
imposed trade embargo against communist Vietnam.  All major U.S. veterans organizations,
the two POW/MIA family groups, and the majority of Vietnamese Americans in this country
opposed Clinton's lifting of the embargo.

Didn't their service, POW status, torture and devotion to duty deserve as much respect as John's?  Evidently not.

We still don't have a full accounting for men a number of whom were seen alive by other POWs after shoot down or incarceration.

There are a lot of things about McCain that suck, but what is the answer?

When Obama is choosing the next Supreme Court Justice, can I call you to say good job?

I see John as the worst of the three for the future of our nation.

Whatever John proposes, he will have over 300 House votes and 90 Senate votes.

I don’t like one party rule. It was tried in Arkansaw under Clinton and California under Schwarzenegger. It doesn’t work.

If you think McCain's picks, the ones that he gets behind and gets through, will be any different, there will be no difference except for no chance of opposition.

I understand that some people don't want to vote for McCain, which is fine with me. But this starts to remind of me what French did to the US prior to the Iraq War. They did more than simply staying out of US efforts. They actively tried to undermine and stab US from the back.

I'm aware I'll get many negative comments, but so be it. McCain is not my 1st choice. If the Dims doesn't run Obama or Hillary, I probably also wouldn't care who win. But, the country is at war, and Islamofacists tried hard to influence US foreign policy. Saying McCain is the same as Hillary, or even worse, Obama, is simply dishonest, IMO.

Paudio, there is an awful lot on the radar right now. I understand where you are coming from, but we ARE talking about three consumate leftists. Please go back and look at the post. Can you honestly say you trust this guy to lead?

Bud, if Obama is President we will have 175 House votes and 38 Senate votes against any leftist policy he proposes. If McCain proposes that same policy, he will have at least 90 Senate votes and 350 House votes for it.

McCain will be the titular head of Conservatism for four years. During that time his leftist policies will be backed by the RNC and Congress. The State Republican leaderships will move left as he directs.

Folks, I don’t see McCain has the best of all options here, and I detest Obama and Clinton. At least they will have resistance. At least they will inspire opposition and Conservative growth.

McCain defeats opposition to liberalism, expecially when he propoeses it, and he will not inspire a Cosnervative takeover of the House.

Even if the House or Senate comes back to the Republican side under McCain, it will Olypia Snows, John McCains and other leftists to are installed.

Don’t look at me. I voted for Fred.

That being said, in a two-party system,

and given that the next Prez will appoint at least 2-3 SCOTUS Justices,

I have to vote anti-Democrat. I can’t take the risk of waiting for 2012.

Just have to hope that “one term John” picks a solid VP who can run a conservative ship in 2013++.

Yes Pogo, it was either two or three true Conservatives who voted against Ginsberg. I’ve forgotten the exact count. And isn’t that the problem?

The Senate is a vast wasteland. And even though John McCain helped make it that way, folks now want to install him into the White House.

Why is the Senate so fricken bad? It’s because we have accepted RINOs until we’re blue in the face. Now we want to place one of the absolute worst, in the White House.

Look at what this guy has been up to. Do you honestly think he is going to back our play at all over the next eight years? He didn’t over the last eight.

We rail on the Democrats for voting for folks like Ginsberg, but if our team does it all is forgiven. Why is that? What does a vote for Ginsberb by McCain tell us, if not that he is not a Conservative?

Most of these guys are party loyalists. Stick an R on Obama, and they would claim he is the only suitable candidate in the race.

Heck, they stuck an R on McCain and they think he is the best thing since sliced bread, even though the Dem-wannabe considered bolting the party in 2000 and even thought he (via his staff) approached Kerry to be Kerry's VP in 2004.
