Thursday of this past week I received a McCain campaign contribution solicitation in the mail. I returned it stating I will make no contribution to McCain or the GOP until he selects his V/P running mate, at which time I will decide.
I also stated McCain has done his level best over the years to dis republican conservatives, even though he now claims to be one. At the Presidential level I have never not voted republican; however, I find this Presidential candidate not to my liking. His choice of a strong V/P for the ticket will influence my decision to vote in this election. Otherwise, I won't.

Who’s a strong pick though? Some people seem to be under the sorely mistaken impression that Flip “Socialized Medicine” Flopney is a strong ‘conservative’ pick. Others might think that Huckabee is a good idea.

The only one I can think of, aside from Fred Thompson, is Mark Sanford and I haven’t seen any movement in that direction.

I think we’ll either end up with a liberal pick that everyone will say is ‘conservative’ (Romney or Huckabee) or some wishy washy more liberal ‘moderate’ like Pawlenty or Crist.

Suckage either way. It’s like putting perfume on a pig.
