So many FReepers lately are insistent on saying they won't vote for John McCain for President, and love to give their laundry list of why.
OK, so you've said who you WON'T vote for. How about now saying who you WOULD vote for? What do you plan to do with your Presidential vote this November?
I will vote for Ronald Reagan, because he’s a true conservative.
Hell, just vote for me.
I’m running on a reinforced platform.
I’ll hold my nose and vote for McCain because anything else will be an act that supports Baraq Hussein or Hillary Rodham.
Just write in Ted Danson for the hell of it.
How’s None of the above sound.
I am NOT gogin to pull any lever for president, but I will vote (R) across the board for congress
Since I consider National Security more important than anything else, I will vote for McCain. Yes, I hate his stance on immigration, but the large war on terror must be won.
You’re not too far off on that. I’d vote for Boris Johnson the new conservative mayor of London.
I’ve already voted this year for an acceptable candidate.
I will likely write in Ronald Reagan for POTUS, or possibly leave that race blank. But No Juan McWhacked No How.
I will vote on all down-ticket races and issues.
Aint it spoda be “who”...?
Waste your vote richard head
Kermit the Frog.
Janice Rogers Brown.
Ron Paul still has my vote. I’ve explained my reasons for favoring a small-government man umpteen times.
It was a joke.
I’d vote for my neighbor, my plumber, anyone at my church.....
...vote for any of my four kids!
I’ll be voting for Alan Keyes in November.
And yes, he will be on my state’s ballot as an independent.

I was honored to be just one person in the procession that walked past President Reagan’s casket as his body laid at rest at the Reagan library in California. The line was six hours long but we waited in respect and no one complained. I met some wonderful California people as we waited. We waited in a Junior College parking lot in a line that wound around the parking lot and the campus to the spot where we would catch the shuttle to the library.
So called dignitaries would show up and jump the line to get on the shuttle while the rest of us waited. The dignitaries included movie actors and Presidential Wannabes like John Kerry. There was one actor in front of me who stood in the line for the same amount of time as the rest of us to show his respect without jumping the line. His name was Tom Selleck.
If we are going to dream up impossible candidates, lets give this guy some consideration.
So was the Wall Mart dork and look what happened
Who are you voting for Soldier? Are you active or retired?
Thank you for your service to our country.
God Bless
Ann Coulter
That was uncalled for.
Same here, Obamao as CINC turns my stomach with apprehension, and Ron Paul didn’t make it, so that leaves Mad John, and he “knows” National Security at least and is a budget Hawk.
Obama is NRA-ILA rated as an “F” folks, with a Dhimmicrat Congress with large majorities, that is not a risk we should be willing to take with the 2nd amendment.
I will give my vote to Ron Paul if a better alternative conservative candidate is not put forward by then.
The reason I will give him my vote is because of his unwavering support and defense of the US Constitution.
That being said, Ron Paul was pretty well near the bottom of my list when the primaries started. Dead last was John McCain.
Grudge votes piss me off
McCain — Only for the troops.
ACU Ratings:
Lifetime Rating / 2005 Rating
John McCain 83 / 80
Hillary Clinton 9 / 12
Barack Obama 8 / 8
I am voting for John McCain.
So go be pissed off, as is your right, but it’s tacky to take it out on people here.
“So many FReepers lately are insistent on saying they won’t vote for John McCain for President”
I just knew I wasn’t alone.
BTW, Chuck Baldwin, Constitution Party. No, he will not likely win but if you aren’t going to draw a line with the lib/RINO/Repube party THIS year with THIS horrible nominee, then WHEN? Just how bad of a nominee do you have to be facing before you say ENOUGH!??! Before you say, “I am going to pick up what shreds of dignity and principles that I have left and I am out of here!??!
WHEN?
“Since I consider National Security more important than anything else, I will vote for McCain. Yes, I hate his stance on immigration, but the large war on terror must be won.”
“It is absolutely ludicrous to say we are fighting a war on terror half way around the world when we refuse to secure our borders and ports.”
-Chuck Baldwin
Not at all. Self-appointed etiquette maven, yes. Mod, no, since I have no power. But it’s sweet of you to think that, bless your heart.
I preferred Fred Thompson, but I'll take another look at Bob.
It is none of your business.
Call me polyannaish but I believe that the stakes have become SOOO high with the arrival of Obama and his ruinous stealth anti-Americanism that there won’t be that many neither candidate-third party voters left.
I just don’t buy the comments by some in this forum.
There will be ONLY those voting FOR Obama and everyone else who will vote McCaine by default when they grasp what’s at stake by allowing Obama to get into White House.
I will not vote for Obama and Hillary, both baby killers. Will vote for McCain because at least, he is pro-life. I do think he will change his tune on embryonic stem cell research.
Prayers for him to do just that.
I agree, the last thing anybody wants in another Jimmah Cahtah.
McCain has in recent years:
He is closer to Ron Reagan Jr. than to Ronald Reagan the leader. Conservativism is a three legged stool and McCain's stool has only one leg. That is one more leg than BH Obama or HR Clinton, but I do not believe conservatives can be this flexible.
I do believe a protest vote is in order, even if it gives the White House to a Marxist. Under McCain no one would oppose the march to socialism. With a democrat in the oval office - the Republican party would fight tooth and nail opposing the president, who would be ineffective and a single term president. The Republican party would repent of running to the center and would once again run on conservative principles not "compassionate" conservativism.
If McCain's running to the center successfully results in a big win, it will be decades before conservatives regain influence, by then it will be too late. If Republicans do not repent of their run to the center (left) then there in little hope for the future of the republic and the future of liberty on planet Earth.
I’m voting McCain. National Security and the thought of this country with a Pres Obama makes me want to throw up.
People that waste their votes will be the first ones to cry when *it hits the fan. Make you Vote Count! (Even if you have to hold your nose).
BS, there will never be another day when I vote for what I consider the less of two evils. They both can go to He**.
Well, you won’t be alone in voting the Constitution Party.
:-)
I’d like to see proof that voting for h im isn’t going to throw my vote away and give the other stupid candidates by the name of Hussein, and Shrillery a chance at the bit.

Micky Mouse.
The Constitution Party (as well as the Libertarian Party, BTW) is for quick withdrawal in the WOT, just like the Democrats are, and that’s a problem. A lot of conservatives also don’t agree with the Constitution Party with either their protectionist views on all trade issues and/or in their isolationist views on all foreign relations issues. Also, like it or not, people in general seriously need to see some true political inroads by the CP, by the LP, or by anybody else if they are ever going to truly become credible alternatives to both the Democrats and the Republicans, and, up to this point in time, nobody has truly become credible political alternatives to both major political parties.
I will vote against Obama or Hillary.
So that leaves McCain, in my mind. Third party candidates just split the vote.
Maybe if we can get enough down ticket wins, all will not be lost.
