No doubt he was thinking 47, with one left to go, not counting Alaska & Hawaii = 50.

Except that he’s had trouble counting states before, and no other candidate would be cut any slack for making these mistakes.

47...57...what’s the difference? I mean, when you never salute the flag with its 50 stars you can’t be expected to know these things.

Sheesh.

He has a hard time with numbers.

Remember he said that 10,000 people were killed by a tornado when it was actually 12 people, and now this.

If he's elected President it will be more of the same...an inexperienced and unqualified wannabe Marxist who makes one verbal gaffe after another.

You got that right. Hopefully Rush has the audio.

I wonder how Dan Quayle feels when he sees these guys get a total pass for this stuff.

He's been to 7 extra states and he STILL can't put Hillary away.

Just kidding.

Obviously he simply misspoke. But what the hell does he mean his staff wouldn't let him go to Hawaii? That's his home state isn't it? I'd tell my staff to stick it where the sun don't shine.

But then, I'm a leader.

Obviously he mis-spoke. He obviously meant he visited 47 states.

But I'll bet he's lying about THAT.

Flying over a state does not constitute "visiting" it.

"He's been to 7 extra states and he STILL can't put Hillary away."

Giving the Dimmi no credit, even I come up shy of 57. 50 states Hussein refuses to acknowledge as worthy of a salute, and some places that have delegate representation at Stalinist Headquarters in Colorado in August, Wash. DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands. 54. Maybe Osama considers Chicago a separate state. Still short.

But was his wife proud of any of the extra 7 states?

He thinks there's 60 states! He's visited "57 with one left to go" - and then, oh, there's also Hawaii and Alaska.

This may sound like a little slip - but the man knows so little about the country he wants to rule - he doesn't even know how many states there are!

obamama says McCain has 'lost his bearings' = it seems that obamama has never had any.

We need to make sure Hannity et al runs with this...it may semm a little thing, but it is NOT.

Remember the rule of thumb the media uses for airing something: they have to get a certain level of emails/calls/FAXES on a given thing to cover it -

So let's get 'em going...

So THAT'S where I've seen Barack Obama before. He used to do those Comfort Inn commercials.

You know. The ones where he sings about all the places he's been.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/05/barack-obama-wa.html

The Los Angeles Times!!!

And funny comments to boot - which are always more devastating - and then this:

He said, ""I hope I said 100,000 people the first time instead of 100 million. I understand I said there were 57 states today. It's a sign that my numeracy is getting a little, uh." At that point, an aide cut him off and ushered journalists out. Before he could mis-speak again?)

Oh, and as far as Hawaii voters are concerned, they're probably delighted to learn that Obama's campaign staff doesn't think that tiny state can justify an appearance by his eminence, even though he did a lot of growing up there. Or maybe because he was there.

Let's see what they do with that in the Honolulu media

and what's with his aide cutting him off and rushing him out of harms way? Is he loosing it?

It would just end up on a "Best of Bush" blooper video on YouTube and Letterman along with his many other slips.

I'm certainly against Obama, but come on, this is very small potatoes. (Or is that potatos, Mr. Quayle? Heh).

I can’t stand Jay Leno, but for some reason my husband and I watched the monologue part of his show one night last week. He referred to a comment that Obama had actually and then made some stupid joke about the president’s allegedly not understanding the meaning of one of the words. A few jokes later he made reference to the rumor involving Roger Clemens and some singer who was a teen when they met. The joke had Clemens saying the relationship was platonic, only Leno, who apparently is so much smarter than Bush, pronounced the word “platonic” and “plutonic”. Once could be attributed to a slip, but Mr. Brilliance actually mispronounced the word twice.

This is incredibly stupid. We should be focusing our attention on the fact that Obama is a liberal. We should focus on the fact that the Supreme Court is up for grabs this election. We should focus on the fact that Obama is pro-abortion. We should focus on the fact that Obama wants nationalized health care. We should focus on the fact that Obama will raise taxes.

Playing stupid "gotcha" games because someone mixes up their words is the stuff that leftists do.

We really are down the drain if we can't bring the conversation to the issues. Perhaps it just takes too much effort. Perhaps people really are dumbed down to the point where they want bumper sticker slogans and "gotcha" games.

If so, we are finished. It's only a matter of time.

I lose a little more faith in the general public (including my fellow conservatives) each day.
