* AT 1132 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A DEVELOPING TORNADO NEAR TRIANGLE...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 27 MPH.
* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... WOODBRIDGE... INDIAN HEAD... LORTON... FORT BELVOIR...
IF YOU ARE IN OR NEAR THE PATH OF THIS STORM...TAKE COVER NOW! IF NO UNDERGROUND SHELTER IS AVAILABLE MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. MOBILE HOMES AND VEHICLES SHOULD BE ABANDONED FOR MORE SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER. AVOID WINDOWS!

Those nighttime tornadoes are especially scary. You’re not up listening to anything to hear the warning reports, and before you know it one is rumbling your direction.
Hope everyone has got emergency supplies on hand all the time, for situations like this.
Doppler radar shows 40kt wind contrast on the main spot of interst. The very bad thing is that there are a couple of other 20kt contrast spots farther southeast. Could be a training/multi cell event up the I95 corridor...and folks are generally unprepared for tornados in those parts.
Tracking the storm on level 2 doppler. Southeast Fairfax county in Virginia, and western Prince Georges county in Maryland are in danger.
Its a very good doppler signature.
Triangle is where the Quantico Marine Corps Base is located..it was 30 minutes from Woodbridge VA..we lived there for 3 years..I remember a whizbang storm that came through..a tornado in an area closer to DC and we still got quite a bit if damage in our housing area..trees down, branches all over the place..that was 1980.
So we moved..to earthquake counrty! Can’t win anywhere...there is no escaping Mother Nature..
False alarm? It may just be all the excess hot air emitting from congress.
What county is Fredericksburg in?
WUSA9-TV: Tornado warning extended to 12:45am for parts of Maryland immediately east-southeast of DC.
WJLA-TV: Tornado has moved into southern Prince George’s County Maryland just north of Accokeek.
Fredericksburg is in Spottsylvania county, across the Rappahannock River from Stafford county, VA.
WUSA9-TV: Tornado warning extended to 1:30am in Prince George’s county.

WJLA-TV: Tornado generating cell is just south of Route 4 along Woodyard Road, moving northeast at 19mph.
Doppler radar shows rotational winds have dropped to about half the speed of 30 minutes ago.
That’s good news.
This is good news; maybe it will go up the Queen Bee’s arse.
With all the new technology out there you think you could get NWS alerts on your cellphone, as many people don’t have weather radios.
