Senator Barack Obama
Obama for America
P.O. Box 8102
Chicago, IL 60680
Dear Senator Obama,
This has been an historic and exciting campaign. Millions of new voters have been brought into the process and their enthusiasm for the Democratic Party and the principles for which you and I have fought and continue to fight is unprecedented.
One of the foremost principles of our party is that citizens be allowed to vote and that those votes be counted. That principle is not currently being applied to the nearly 2.5 million people who voted in primaries in Florida and Michigan. Whoever emerges as the Democratic nominee will be hamstrung in the general election if a fair and quick resolution is not reached that ensures that the voices of these voters are heard. Our commitment now to this goal could be the difference between winning and losing in November.
I have consistently said that the votes cast in Florida and Michigan in January should be counted. We cannot ignore the fact that the people in those states took the time to be a part of this process and to make their preferences known. When efforts were untaken by leaders in those states to hold revotes to ensure that they had a voice in selecting our nominee, I supported those efforts. In Michigan, I supported a legislative effort to hold a revote that the Democratic National Committee said was in complete compliance with the party's rules. You did not support those efforts and your supporters in Michigan publically opposed them. In Florida a number of revote options were proposed. I am not aware of any that you supported. In 2000, the Republicans won an election by successfully opposing a fair counting of votes in Florida. As Democrats, we must reject any proposals that would do the same.
Your commitment to the voters of these states must be clearly stated and your support for a fair and quick resolution must be clearly demonstrated.
I am asking you to join me in working with representatives from Florida and Michigan and the Democratic National Committee to arrive at a solution that honors the votes of the millions of people who went to the polls in Florida and Michigan. It is not enough to simply seat their representatives at the convention in Denver. The people of these great states, like the people who have voted and are to vote in other states, must have a voice in selecting our party's nominee.
Sincerely,
Hillary Rodham Clinton

Is this for real? Was this printe in Time? Was it hand delivered? I don’t understand....
Schoolyard fight!!!

At this point, so many Dems are so mad at her, I think he’d cream her, at least in Michigan.
I think those two are going to team up. Whether or not McCain can beat them, I do not know. It won’t be without Rush Limbaugh and Operation Chaos really beating up on them at any rate. (The MSM is already beating up on McCain, and he ain’t seen nothin’ yet. They will release the absolute worst and most unflattering stories and photos of both McCain and Cindy, they will trumpet his every, how ever slight, “senior moment”, until McCain will forever lose his love affair with the media.)
I think they’ll team up too, although it’s a real step down for her, and quite a humiliating one. George Stephanopolous said today that he thinks she’d take the VP slot, and he’s close to her...that scares me very, very much.
Given their history of offing people who stand in their way, I don’t think Obama would be too pleased to have her as the next in command...
THERE'S the glitch in any compromise.
Though Michelle is altogether equally, if not more of a bitch than the bwitch ... she isn't that difficult on the eyes ... and we already know x42 would do a 3000 year old mummy ... so .... Do you really think Obama would allow the joining of these four personalities?
Get real.
sw
I think they have almost no choice but to team up.
She has sufficient delegates to make him an offer he can’t refuse. Take me as the VP or we walk and oppose you so that neither of us win.
What a horrible choice to have to make.
She’s always talking about rewarding the people who live by the rules. She must mean her rules for Florida and Michigan. The other 48 probably has two words for her.
Can you say desperation?
The "journalists" try to write kindly, but their words of, "She's in trouble" or whatever just mask the true sentiment ... These people are certified and we wish we had never started this trip 16 years ago.
The real problem is ... the x42's have spawned ... and there's another one ... more angry and evil after experiencing all the disfuntion and hatred, and IT'S turn will come.
God help us.
If Obama take Hillary his VP candidate he is more stupid than I thought.
Billy would be trying to drive the car from the "back seat".
What about the voters who chose "Uncommitted" in Michigan because they were told their vote didn't count?
What about the voters who crossed over in Florida because they were told their votes didn't count?
What about the other Democrat candidates who followed the rules in Michigan and had their names removed from the ballots?
-PJ
Most of those broken-glass Dems vote Dem knowing that the candidate is diametrically opposed to most of what they hold dear.
They will not do that to the Democrat party. Especially when they have two liberals to choose from in the general.

Consistently since she started losing.
Well, sad to say, fun time is nearly over. She’ll be out of the race before June, even if she remains semantically in the running and clings like a dingleberry until the convention. Hillary is done.
