Barack Obama has finally distanced himself from Rev. Jeremiah Wright after a 20-year relationship, but the pastor who is replacing Wright at Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ is likely to be just as controversial.

New Trinity pastor Otis Moss has called Biblical patriarch Abraham a “pimp” and made other statements many would consider offensive.

After Obama called Wright’s comments “divisive and destructive,” a questioner noted that Rev. Moss has defended Wright and asked if Obama would continue attending the church.

Religion has no place for shock jocks. Wright and this new idiot are a disgrace to their calling. They are no different than the poverty pimp “reverends”

Like I said, a man is judged by the company he keeps. That's all you need to know about Obama and his family.

I read the quotes and can’t imagine that Jesus is very amused.

“Well, the new pastor, the young pastor, Reverend Otis Moss, is a wonderful young pastor,” Obama responded. “And as I said, I still very much value the Trinity community.” “

His words speak on their own..

I've given up on trying to relate to “The Black Church Thing”. Besides, I have diseases to go invent which will help with the immigrant problem.

Jesus has a soft spot for thugs.

Not scriptural. He had a desire to reform thugs.

God is always using thugs to do God's work.

Defensible, sometimes.

Everyone has a little bit of thug in them.

True, although the Bible teaches us to resist it.

Noah was a thug who was drinking much gin and juice and got drunk on the eve of reconstruction.

Noah got blasted. Don't see why that makes him a thug.

Abraham pimped his own wife.

Sort of. Certainly wasn't a shining example of courage on these occasions.

Jacob was a hustler who stole his own brother's birthright.

A defensible explanation.

Moses was a thug and if he got mad would give you a royal beatdown.

Well, he could certainly be violent. Not sure this makes him a thug.

Sampson was a thug and a player.

Not inaccurate.

David was a thug, a shot caller, and a player, and a man after God's own heart.

Pretty much. He wasn't just those things, of course.

Jesus is on the cross being lynched between two thugs. The moment of execution, the moment of murder, Jesus, the son of God, is hanging out with thugs.

This one isn't fair. They didn't give Christ the option of deciding who he'd be crucified with.

Black Liberation Theology and its entire undergirding of support is bad for the people subjected to it and bad for the country...no matter who preaches it.

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH - BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY AND OBAMA'S CHURCH

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH - OBAMA'S CIRCLE OF FRIENDS AND SUPPORT

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH - BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

You ‘typical white people’ just don’t ‘get’ the ‘black experience’. The gospel doesn’t make any sense unless you relate it to the ‘black experience’.

I saw Tony Brown interviewing a young, educated, middle-class black guy and ask him how he would ‘convince’ blacks that the black culture of disdaining education and considering the ‘prison experience’ as part of ‘being a man’ should be abandoned in favor of educating themselves. The poor guy looked at him blankly for just long enough to read his mind. “You think people actually need to be *convinced* not to live that way?”

Apparently this preacher has a lot of company in the black community, like Tony Brown. They certainly aren’t going to listen to ‘whitey’ and their own people climb the ladder on the backs of those who are destroying themselves by teaching them it is someone else’s fault.

I don’t know that there is much hope for a culture like that. It’s a cultural problem, not a melanin problem. The Asians proved that long ago.

Sean Hannity played a clip of the new pastor taunting him — the way it sounded it was on the air during the regular service.

You think that’s “black preaching done right”? It’s not. That guy is almost as bad as Wright. There are a lot of very good, very godly black preachers who can deliver a rousing sermon, make you examine the condition of your soul, and preach the Word of God without all the sexual references and ugliness.

I was responding to another post. But if you take the quote and put in Google; a large amount of hits come up so I would assume it to be true:

Well, Sean Hannity agrees with you. But Dr. Manning is a good guy, and he's on our side.
