"...Obama, to be sure, does not seem to share the racial hang-ups of his South Side supporters. In his often-insightful autobiography, Dreams From My Father (1995), he dismisses the black-power movement as a corrosive force that denies individual identity in its vision of blacks as constant victims. But if Obama is unwilling to accept all the convictions of the black community, neither is he prepared to sever his ties with those who, like Fr. Pfleger, shamelessly stoke racial tensions and undermine Obamas sincere efforts to move past the struggles of old."
"...And there may be more at issue than the company Obama keeps. For instance, while Obama has promised to follow a new political model, one above the partisan jousting of Washington, his connection to Pfleger suggests that Obama is a practitioner of that oldest brand of partisanship: patronage politics. Thus, the Chicago Tribune has reported that between 1995 and 2001, when Obama was a state senator, Pfleger contributed some $1,500 to the young politicians campaign. In what seems suspiciously like a quid pro quo, Obama later would pad the state budget with earmarks to favored constituents, steering some $225,000 in grants to St. Sabina. Despite condemning business-as-usual in Washington, Obama now stood revealed as a veteran of the traditional approach."

The author pounds the pavement of the neighborhood and gives a good overall impression of the place and people. Rev. Pleger's Church website is full of afrocentrist imagery and feelgood sayings and community activities & whatnot but the message being pounded from all these pulpits is toxic as all get-out.
I cannot see how the vast majority of people raised from childhood on these relentless messages of self-pity, paranoia, separatism and entitlement being pounded from these pulpits can possibly go on to build successful, fulfilling lives. The "black church" is supposed to be a rock in the storm but if this is what its message amounts to I can only see it as every bit as destructive and pathology-perpetrating as the hip-hop/thug culture being blasted by the entertainment industry wurlitzer.
PING 4 LATER
PING 4 LATER
Right there is the biggest lie of the article and I quit reading. He is one of the biggest racist every foisted onto the American public.
NObama PING.
Obama attended racial hate rallies at his church for TWENTY YEARS, and the author is going to tell us he doesn’t have any racial hangups? A church that gave Louis Farrakhan lifetime acheivement award, says aids was invented by whites to mass murder blacks, prints hamas literature in church bulletin...
Rev. Pfleger is smart—that’s a pretty good return on investment. Just like the hospital that tripled Michelle’s salary and then saw the goodies flow from Washington.
Yep, and his seething anger is not only documented in his autobiographies but evidenced from his policies to the fulminations of his wife and minister.
He’s full of racial anger that starts with his parents having abandoned him and culminates in his radically Marxist politics.
So while he says, the black power movement is corrosive, he sat there in the pews fro almost 20 years and listened to it. The obamination is a con man of the worst order.
I don’t think Obama has the hang upsand anger that many blacks (in da hood or elsewhere) have. Even though he is of mixed race, he knew that he had to identify as black because there was never a proper place for mixed people, and even though it is much more common today there still really isn’t a proper place for them. We are not South Africa or French New Orleans, where people of mixed race has their own classification and were part of the scene.
But Obama first and foremost is a socialist academe, that is where is heart is. Theoretically he supports the ideas of Black Liberation Theology, but its not from an emotional standpoint. It’s from the lofty heights of academia. Can you say he used the Black community? Maybe. I really think as a young man out of law school he was trying to find his place. I really don’t think he was calculating like Bill Clinton in seeking political office from the get go. And in finding his place (while doing community work) he got involved with local Black institutions in Chicago (such as Wright’s church). But being the socialist that he is, he mentally gave the nod to Wright’s ideas, and also the nod to Screwey Louis Farrakhan....but from an emotionally detached viewpoint. Barack knows he is too smart to really get roped in. The one on some level he probably feels more at home with is William Ayers.....but again, totally disavowing support for Ayers’ violent Weather Underground past. They are both academics and they are both socialist revolutionaries (Obama, of the arm chair variety).
As far as Pfelger goes-—he suffers from too much white guilt, especially the sappy kind you find among the religious left. The Catholic clergy abounds in those people....but most don’t go spouting to the degree as Pfleger.
What you said--self-pity, paranoia, separatism and entitlemnet...
Whether Obama has used the church to futher
his carrer is irrelevent. He is a radical leftist. His thin voting record shows this.
I believe he is for more radical than he appears.
There is nothing to say he is using black liberation theology just to advance his political career.
