Schneider: Did 'Operation Chaos' succeed in Indiana?
CNN ^ | May 7, 2008 | Bill Schneider

Posted on 05/07/2008 5:35:04 AM PDT by RDTF

(CNN) – How big of an impact did Rush Limbaugh’s ‘Operation Chaos’ have in Indiana? Did GOP voters really cross over to create havoc in the Democratic primary by voting for Hillary Clinton, as he’d asked his listeners to do?

-snip-

For whatever reason, self-identified conservative voters did overwhelmingly support Clinton – two out of three cast their votes for the New York senator.

Found a website yesterday that said that between Barry O and the Witch, they spent more on TV ads in the last two weeks than John Kerry did during his entire primary campaign in 2004. That’s a lot of dough sucked out of the pockets of liberals that they won’t be able to give to down-ballot Rat candidates.

NC isn’t an open primary. If Indiana wasn’t open primary, H! would have lost big time.........

I'm shocked that Schneider and DNCNN didn't say that the real reason conservative voters supported Clinton was because she is white and Obama is black, and it's well known that conservatives are all racists...

It also gives me a knot in my stomach thinking about a President Obama.

I met with my doctor yesterday and he says all his kids in college are crazy about Obama. He has informed them that if Obama get in office he won’t have the money to pay their tuition and will have to find a job.

These “kids” have had everything handed to them without a clue how hard their parents have worked to live in the land of the free.

Then again, the parents need to be parents, not their kids best friend or an ATM machine.

If he did I don't think they were listening. Polls had Clinton up by as much as 12 points in recent weeks, she won by 2.

I’m not as worried about the Presidency as the Congress and the Supreme Court with the Dems in Total Control. A Dem President will be obedient to the big boys. How do you think these 2 clowns (HIllary and Obama) got to where they are.

The way I see it, with the Dems in total control, so long as we keep the 40 seat minority in the senate, the filibuster can hold back the worst of the legislative excesses -- however, it won't stop judicial nominees because Republicans don't play that game.

If McCain wins, on the other hand, we might get decent justices but there will be no way to stop his legislation because the Dems will probably be on board with him and he'll lean on too many of the GOP to go along. And fillibustering the legislation of your own party's leader would be unprecedented, I believe.

Didn't the Democrats do it with the Civil Rights legislation? I thought they did...it was Senate REPUBLICANS who put that over the top.

Agree! Obama widens his delegate lead. There have been renewed calls for Clinton to quit the race, yet she has vowed to 'press on'....

It's the perfect storm.....or chaos.

According to the Obama camp, it had an effect. Obama Camp Credits Operation Chaos for Clinton Lead in Indiana

In an e-mail entitled “The Limbaugh Effect in Indiana = 7 percent,” Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton wrote: “According to the latest exit polling data, 17 percent of voters in the Indiana primary today said they would vote for John McCain in a Clinton/McCain match-up. Forty-one percent of that number is constituted by people who voted Clinton in the primary but also indicated they will vote for McCain in the general election. That comes out to just under 7 percent of the primary electorate the number that may be attributed to a Limbaugh Effect.”

No. There were too many important races down ballot. A lot of callers brought this to his attention weeks back.

And of course Barak Hussein Obama is as honest as the day is long and would receive no benefit from people thinking that those who voted for Clinton in the primary will not vote for her in the general.

No chance of winning, huh? A LOT of my fellow freepers are going to be shocked when reality hits and Madame President gives her first inauguration speech, with Obama standing by in the VP spot.

If Rush thinks McCain will beat Hillary in the general, well...he’s in for a surprise.

At the least, it is OBAMA who has no chance, thanks to Op Chaos, and I agree it is wise to oppose him, who is even more radical than Hillary, amazing as it may be.

I am betting a friend that these same kids will stay home election day and sit on their couch in front of their bong like they do every 4 years. My friend says it will be different this time though with Obama.

I would think that because of the proximity to and demographics similar to Illinois, that Oboobma should have won in Indiana.

“As disgusting as it was, I did my OC duty yesterday.”

I also hear that many democrats ceased on Rush’s idea and voted for McCain earlier in the primary season in their states. Now we’re stuck with him. Unfortunately, despite her “big” win in Kentucky it’s over for Hillary. She’s like a cadaver hitting the pavement on the second bounce.
