Paging John McCain: GOP House leader Boehner rips La Raza earmark
MichelleMalkin .com ^ | May 6, 2008 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 05/06/2008 6:13:33 PM PDT by NoKoolAidforMe

House Republicans are spreading the word about the La Raza earmark in the pork-laden housing bill that I’ve been reporting on (see here and here).

Fresh from the desk of House GOP leader John Boehner:

Democrats are prepared to bring to the House floor legislation purportedly written to assist Americans impacted by the recent housing slump. But in recent days, it has become increasingly clear who this legislation is really out to serve: scam artists, speculators, and trial lawyers.

That’s right: the bill forces taxpayers to pay for a massive $300 billion bailout at the expense of innocent victims who truly need assistance and hard-working families who continue to pay their mortgage on time. And it includes language slipped-in by House Democrats at the last minute to fund a giant $35 million slush fund for trial lawyers seeking to capitalize on the housing downturn.

But the goodies for the friends of the Democratic Majority don’t stop there. House Democrats quietly tucked another giveaway into the long, complicated bill in order to benefit their political allies with virtually no prior public scrutiny or debate. Take a look at this political giveaway – “Assistance for the Raza Development Fund” – straight from the text of the bill:

(c) ASSISTANCE FOR RAZA DEVELOPMENT FUND.—

(1) USE.—The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development may make a grant to the Raza Development Fund for the purpose of providing technical and financial assistance to local non-profit organizations to undertake community development and affordable housing projects and programs serving low- and moderate-income households, particularly through organizations located in neighborhoods with substantial populations of income-disadvantaged households of Hispanic origin. Assistance provided by the Secretary under this subsection may be used by the Raza Development Fund…

(2) AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.— There is authorized to be appropriated for grants under this subsection—

(A) $5,000,000 for fiscal year 2008; and (B) $10,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2009 and 2010.

In short, House Democrats are expecting American taxpayers to shell out $25 million to the Raza Development Fund – an arm of the National Council of La Raza and Democratic political ally that has made its name by promoting pro-illegal immigration policies and opposing real border security.

American families are struggling with rising costs for everything from gasoline to food to mortgages. Times like these require Congress to work in a bipartisan way on behalf of the American people. But instead, this Democratic Majority has produced a bill that rewards scam artists, speculators, trial lawyers, and political allies like La Raza…all at the expense of taxpayers and homeowners who really need help. Sadly, it’s yet more example of what American taxpayers have come to expect from a broken Washington under the leadership of House Democrats. Sadly, we haven’t heard a peep from House Republicans–or any prominent Republicans–about John McCain’s decision to legitimize and honor La Raza (”The Race”)with his presence at its annual open-borders convention in July.

Hello?

I'm sure Hernandez convinced McShamnesty that La Raza doesn't mean The Race.

This is the man John McCain chose to be his "Hispanic Outreach Director." Hernandez is a certified traitor. Born in Dallas, he decided as an adult to become a dual-national Mexican citizen. His last "real" job was serving on Mexican President Vicente Fox's cabinet as his "American Reconquista Director." After that gig ran out, he worked (sic) for George Soros funded internationalist foundations, like the one that published his new book.

The "New American Pioneers" proclaimed in his book are the illegal alien invaders he urges to become settlers in the USA. Hernandez believes all Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in the USA should become dual citizens and consider themselves Mexicans first, "to the 8th generation." He believes there should be no border at all between Mexico and the USA, ever.

And this is the man McCain chose for his "Hispanic Outreach Director." After selecting him, McCain was asked about this choice, and he said he chose Hernandez because he agrees with his positions. If so, McCain is supporting invasion and reconquista.

Whether he goes there or not, he is still in their back pocket. An official visit wouldn’t change things. Either vote for the guy or not, but don’t hinge it on this one visit.

Base it on his continued support for amnesty and illegal alien rights over the rule of law, or even our own right to be free from this nonsense.

"Grasp it," hell. More than a few of them openly count that as being a genuine plus, to their way of thinking.

Shameful, and sad.

McShamesty does not the votes of conservatives. He is going to win by bashing the base of his party, or so he thinks. I stated from day one, since all three are the same, I do not care who wins. The country is going to be in a tough four years. All three worship at the god of global warming and thinking they know better than you. I am just putting my faith in Jesus and hope to ride it out.

Time for a major floor fight at the republican convention to deny Mr. McCain the nomination.

We can start by challenging the political credentials of the McCain delegates. There is no way these socialists and communists supporting Mr. McCain can stand up to a challenge of their Republican credentials, especially the republican platform. Throw these bastards out of the convention.

Juan Hernandez needs medication ~ we've seen him on TV too many times to fail to notice that he's officious to an extreme.

The fact that McCain doesn't notice this speaks vast volumes about why we have to come up with a new candidate at the convention.

He's not exactly oscillating. What's going on is that he's suffering from serious interruptions of blood flow to parts of his brain. The Merck Manual says "Damage to the front part of the occipital lobe can impair the ability to recognize familiar objects and faces and to accurately interpret what is seen.

Took me all of 5 seconds to find that one and I'm not even a doctor, but the symptoms seem all too familiar.

It's entirely possible that we have but a few days to wait and McCain is going to be out of the race.

Years ago I predicted that Princess Diana was going to get into real trouble running around with playboys and drunks ~ and that her floozy ways were a scandal to her family.

That was on an early internet discussion board called "Doonesbury".

Didn't say anything lots of other folks thought, but my prediction was posted about 15 minutes before her car smacked into that ballustrade in the middle of a tunnel in Paris and killed her.

It seems that as long as he has an R after his name a large number of people are going to jump up, click heels, and salute the guy. McCain is every bit as vile as Obama and Hillary, yet, so many refuse to see it or are willing to support him anyway. Perhaps the best course is to pray for Divine intervention.

Please tell me how this could happen! As far as I can see, McCain is the only choice we have since he has won the nomination. Hillary or Obama is not a choice for me, even though I am certainly not pleased about voting for McCain.

So if you can say just “how” McCain could be thrown under the bus at our convention, I would like to hear it. And also, whom do you think would be nominated in McCain’s place if somehow McCain was rejected at convention?

Just reading up on the interrelationship of brain damage and schizophrenia. Lots of studies on the net. Hard to tell which comes first, although I'd doubt a schizophrenic could spent 20 years in serious politics without repeated hospitalizations.

More like some cardiovascular problem causing problems in the brain that lead to the behavior ~

No, McCain has already clinched the nomination. Republicans voters have already chosen their candidate. Causing a ruckus at the convention will on help the Dims. Anyone that betrays the party will quickly be shown the door. Luckily, those most likely to cause trouble (the Paulbots) are being weeded out beforehand.

For sure, and awful is better than horrible.

No, Mr. Awful is not better than the other choices.

John McCain will destroy your party and the conservative nature of the GOP if he becomes President.

How you may ask?

It's simple. As shown by his comments during the last few days, his Comprehensive Immigration plan is on his short list of to do items.

We all know that Comprehensive Immigration Reform is simply a code-phrase for Amnesty for Illegal Aliens.

John McCain will grant amnesty to the 20-40 million+ illegal aliens in this country who will vote (just like the current Hispanic voting block) 70%+ Democrat.

This will dump a huge imbalance of Democrat voters into the US electorate and will erase the razor thin margins between Democrat and Republican voters.

Republicans will start losing by large numbers from this point on and will become the minority party for decades.

Furthermore, by granting Amnesty against the desires of the GOP's base (conservatives) he will have put the last knife into the back of conservatives.

Conservatives will leave the party by the millions or simply check out of the process and give up.

On top of all the mischief that John McCain will visit on the GOP with this single issue, he will also be pushing Global Warming, a health care plan that has socialistic leanings, he will not be pushing for major tax-cuts as evidenced by his history of voting against killing the death tax and voting against President Bush's tax cuts and calling them tax-cuts for the rich. He will also be pushing the Global Warming scam including a Carbon Cap-and-Trade system that will tear our economy apart.

Now, what do you think our GOP congress will be doing all this time?

They will be rubber-stamping John McCain's agenda much as the current congress, for the most part, have done with President Bush (No fiscal Responsibility, Big new Medicare Program, etc.)

Now, if either of the Marxists are elected, the GOP members in congress will all of a sudden grow a spine and remember who they represent and will fight like Hell guaranting a much higher level of gridlock.

I vote for Gridlock.

Don’t feel bad. It is above my paygrade too! When I still hear McCain referred to as the “presumptive nominee” when he already has the delegates, I wonder if something could possibly happen to remove him and maybe get Thompson or Romney instead. Then I read posts about McCain blowing up and causing his own demise. Guess anything can happen, but looks like McCain is just going to be the lesser of three evils in November. :(
