When Lake Charles Rep. Mike Geymann pulled some ill-conceived bills on immigration enforcement last month, he promised to address critics' concerns before refiling them.
The changes he made failed to correct the flaws -- yet the bills sailed out of the House Committee on the Administration of Criminal Justice last week.
Lawmakers should recognize the widespread problems these proposals would cause, even for citizens and legal residents. The Legislature should reject the proposals. If not, Gov. Bobby Jindal should veto the bills.

I applaud the LA lawmakers for ENFORCING THE LAWS CONCERNING ILLEGAL ALIENS. Good for them!! What is the big deal here??? Better to just leave things status quo (i.e. REWARDING BLATANT LAWBREAKING AND LAWBREAKERS WITH ENTITLEMENTS, ETC.) or to pass laws reinforcing current laws on the books AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO PROTECT ACTUAL LEGAL CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA???

That's why courts ruled unconstitutional a 2002 Louisiana law making it a felony to drive without proof of legal residency. The new proposals face the same hurdle.
In most states you can't get a driver's license without producing a birth certificate or other proof of residency so I don't understand that court decision.
I just got home from the tractor supply store in Jackson Michigan. While I was standing in the checkout line I noticed the big “13” tattooed on the back of the guy’s neck in front of me. His race was obvious but irrelevant, I’m just disgusted that we’ve allowed these gang terrorists to infect our country.
