Nagin Picked As Superdelegate

Hasn't said if he will support Obama or Clinton

Saturday, May 3, 2008

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has been elected a superdelegate to the Democratic Party's presidential nominating convention.

The state party's central committee picked Nagin over four other candidates, including Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu, who unsuccessfully challenged Nagin for mayor in 2006.

Nagin won 83 votes in voting Saturday, Jerry McKernan of Baton Rouge had 50 and Landrieu had 28.

Nagin is one of 11 Louisiana superdelegates who will go to the convention and do not need to pledge their support to a candidate beforehand.

Nagin said he hasn't decided whether to support Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama because he hasn't decided which one would be better for New Orleans.

This election cycle has been so fun watching the Dems eat themselves. But I'm ready to hurry up and get McCain though here so we can get a REAL candidate in office.

I have a feeling, come election day, it will be one of the lowest turnouts for a national election ever.

For the GOP, perhaps. Democrats always have 150% turnout no matter who the candidate is.

I think this election is going to hinge on whether or not bitter typical whitey voters turn out for Obama should be the Democrat nominee. If Mrs. Bill Clinton becomes the nominee, she will still get at least 90% of the black vote.

Nagin represents the DNC and their voters very well.

Hell, they should have run him for President.

Is Nagin the “Angel of Death” superdelegate for the Democrats?

Maybe we can get Hugo Chavez or Moammar Kadhafi to come observe our election to make sure it’s all on the up and up.

Trust me, he’ll vote for the “chocolate” candidate. How could a mayor of a “chocolate city” vote for anyone else?

Chocolate City Mayor Ray "Schoobus" Nagin gives a hearty "Amen" to da Rev'rind Jeremiah Wright at a recent "Hate Whitey" church service.

Nagin said he hasn't decided whether to support Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama because he hasn't decided which one would be better for New Orleans.

You're supposed to choose a president who will be best for the country, not a specific city. That's what the mayor is for, MAYOR Nagin.

He and the other superdelegates will be taking a government paid sabbatical in Vegas after the convention, where many of the mystery employees on the N.O. payroll seem to be caught in some kind of time warp. Must be busy chasing one armed bandits. My faith in the people of this nation took a hugh hit when that bus clown got re-elected. I am series!

Raymond Nagin is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.

I remember... I remember. I can see that Chinese cat standing there and smiling like Fu Manchu saying: The Queen of Diamonds is reminiscent in many ways of Raymond's dearly loved and hated mother... and is the second key to clear the mechanism for any other assignment. Looking at the cast of characters selected as superdelegates, and considering the amount of money and power at stake, I’m waiting for the first major bribery scandal. Candidate will have plausible deniability, of course. Can’t expect them to keep track of every little thing their minions do, you see.
