Dittoheads, you've been dissed. Chris Matthews has dismissed you as a bunch of mind-numbed robots. CNBC's John Harwood seconded the insult. It happened on this evening's Hardball as Matthews mused about the potential impact of Operation Chaos on the upcoming primaries.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: How much of a move do you hear, John Harwood, the so-called Operation Chaos is going to play next Tuesday in Indianapolis [sic], the effort by Rush Limbaugh, the lovable Rush Limbaugh, I must say, to encourage Republicans, registered Republicans, to go vote for Hillary just to cause chaos and perhaps get her the nomination? How big a role will that be?
JOHN HARWOOD: My suspicion, Chris, is that's a lot more talk than action. I think there aren't that many voters who can be manipulated in that way to go make trouble in a primary election. And one of the things that's striking--
MATTHEWS: But when you call yourself a "dittohead," it seems to me you've already defined yourself as someone who is, uh, let's put it this waymanipulable.

Chris Matthews disses dittoheads ping to Today show list.
I hate to say it, but looking at all the Freepers who are doing their best to ignore the growing evidence that Rush is, in fact, trying to throw the nomination (if not the election) to Hillary, I have to say that Matthews may actually be right about something for once.
How can someone be “dissed” if no one saw it? LOL
Hillary made this little worm apologize everytime he said anything against her and he calls us manipulable?
This from the guy who gets tingles up his leg from an empty suit.

He’s probably jealous the Limbaugh’s audience is at least 40 times his own.
Naw, he’s wrong! I spoke once to a buncha sheep jumping over a cliff following their leader, and each and every one was convinced that he (or she) was an original thinker!
Awwww...little Chrissy seems upset about his widdle biddie hero’s self-inflicted political troubles - hope he still feels the tingling sensation Barack Hussein Obama induces in him.
We are so stupid. I wish we were smart like you.
I agree with you....Anyone who would change parties to vote for a skank like Hellary has to be crazy or just plain stupid...Screw that egomaniac Rush too!...If anything go for the jugglar and vote the Incubus from Hell out of office.....Send her and her rotten husband to hell where they come from!!!!
Don't you get it? The media was giving that guy a free ride to the presidency before OC came along. Go Rush!
“growing evidence”
Repeated bashing of Rush is not evidence.
If you have evidence...put it out there.
Rush wants Hillary. He HATES McCain with a deep passion. He would rather have Hillary. He even said he doesn't know if he will vote for the Republican this year.
Some of us have brains and can see that Hillary is a lot harder to beat than Barak.
Good post.
Here’s your “I have a brain” sign. ;>)
OMG. That’s BAD. (rotflmao!!!)
His guest hosting shot was a train wreck and I don't think he was ever given another opportunity.
Chrissy is a lightweight political hack turned junk journalist.
brought to you by Chairman Howard Dean.
Operation Chaos is FANTASTIC.
Demcrats attwitter.
campaign money HEMORAGING.
We don’t need to stop it, WE NEED TO RAMP IT UP!!!!
Now the democrats need to talk about Algore or Jimmy Carter comming in as a white knight candidate!
Obama is clearly the media candidate, and continues to get fluff coverage. It is only the Clinton machine that is doing the work that the RNC and McCain ought to be doing, and Rush is recognizing that, inserting chaos into their primaries.
Obama being roughed up by the Clintons is one of the most fun things I have ever seen. Obama getting pulled down off his pretense of being above it all has been fun to watch. The Clinton's tearing him down has shown lots of Dems how awful they are.
All due to operation chaos. The only enjoyable thing about this election season has been watching the identity politics of the dems tear themselves apart.
Begin with the admission. In February, Rush told the Washington Post that he thought it might be better for the country if a Democrat were elected President this time instead of McCain.
Then consider the following:
Limbaugh has stated that the purpose of OC was to create chaos that would weaken the Democrat party but keeping Clinton in. Fair enough, but that's been accomplished. She isn't going anywhere. We have a floor fight. This would tend to support an end to the operation IF the goal was the aforementioned chaos.
Instead, Rush continues the operation beyond the point of necessity.
Next, we have the growing body of evidence that Obama is the weaker of the two candidates. As a result, he is dropping in the polls and there is a good chance that Hillary will win both NC and Indiana.
These events give Hillary momentum. They also bolster her arguments that (a) she is more electable than Obama; (b) she is ahead, or will be ahead, in the popular vote.
That momentum gives the superdelegates a perfect excuse to break to Hillary. They will see that, while they will perhaps get some disenchanted African Americans, they will also pick up the old ladies and soccer moms who form Hillary's "base," both of which are more reliable voting blocs.
Furthermore, any riots at the DNC give Hillary her "sister soljah" moment, that is, a chance to appear moderate in the face of the more extreme elements at the convention.
Result: the nomination of Hillary, the stronger candidate.
Finally, if this was about nominating a weaker candidate, or creating chaos, given the recent drop in polling for Obama, Rush would be changing tactics. Instead of urging his followers to support Clinton in the upcoming primaries, he would be urging a small Obama "comeback" to keep everyone off their toes.
He isn't doing that, however, he's still pushing for, and strengthening the case for, Hillary Clinton.
At this point, there is simply no rational basis for Limbaugh to want to put the wind to Hillary's sails unless he wants her to get the nomination. This, coupled with his own admission that he thought it might be a good idea to let the Democrat win, is pretty compelling evidence.
Obama would have been so much easier to beat in the Fall.
Oh, didn’t you know? We’re all stupid as well as racists...and EEEEeeevil doodieheads.
For as thick of a meatheaded pigfaced ward heeler Mick race baiter as Matthews is..he is just so incredibly transparent.
Just as I suspected, pass the smelling salts, Obama fainters here are ticked, at Rush, at Hannity for “harping” on Rev Wright.
All under Hillary the boogyman guise.
Very funny.
I think Rush was tryin to be funny...but to quote from a source i’m sure Crap Matthews knows...”T’aint funny McGee!”
I think blogger is trying to start something......I didn’t see the words ‘mind-numb-robots’ in the transcript.....
Seemed like he was trying to be as respectful as possible and saying that once you are proud of the label ‘Dittohead’, you are kind of saying I am gullible and manipulable.
In fact, its kind of complimentary if you Liberals are worried about Dittoheads.
You’re absolutely right. If she pulls out the nomination, we get 8 more years of the clintons. They will be far, far more dangerous this time.
What is Chrissie’s FR forum name? I think he’s been posting a lot here recently.
Me too!
IMHO, anyone that would vote for H or O, except for Operation Chaos, would follow Hitler or Stalin. THOSE are the mind numbed robots.
Only those that cannot stand alone want a government to control their lives.
Being dissed by a turd like Matthews is OK by me. I’ll stick with Rush over Chrissie any time.
Amen! Go FObama yourself Chrissy!
I would write more but I have to go to a play that my 3 year old granddaughter is in.
You haven’t made a sale with me, though I believe we want the same end to all of this in November.
Maybe in a couple of weeks or so I will reevaluate, but right now, the more flesh torn from each of those traitorous democrat bastards, the better...and Rush is helping it happen.
When Chwissy Mathews speaks to John Harwood, they speak in a non-verbal code that a heterosexual like myself has no understanding of.
Where's the link to the Washington Post story you characterize?
By what evidence do you state that "She (Hillary) isn't going anywhere." Was the win in PA a figment of our imagination? Would she still be in the race if she hadn't won?
What's the "growing body of evidence that Obama is the weaker of the two candidates?" The MSM certainly doesn't share your opinion, even after yesterday's repudiation of Wright.
The rest of your argument in pure conjecture based on the above premise.
Based on what I've seen of McCainiacs (sorry if that term is offensive, but it certainly does seem appropriate) postings on FR and elsewhere, they are convinced, as apparently McCain is, that he would be better off running against Obama -- not because he's the "weaker candidate," but because they believe that Hillary's supporters are more closely in tune with McCain's policies, and they are less likely to vote for Obama than Obama's supporters would vote for McCain.
Finally, what I believe is in play here is what psychologists call "projection." McCain is the kind of guy who harbors grudges -- so therefore Rush, who has been historically (and, IMO, correctly) critical of McCain's center-of-the-left policies, can't possibly be helping McCain with Operation Chaos. Ergo, Rush has an ulterior motive, and is trying to sabotage McCain.
McCain has always done a fine job of sabotaging himself among conservatives. He doesn't need any help in that department.
Operation.
Chaos.
Excellent!
You sure had had me fooled.
Bravo !
I'm so afraid hillary! will prevail come November. I've stopped listening to rush, and HATE operation chaos.
I remember it, and actually remember enjoying it.
To quote a phrase, it was "a kinder and gentler" time.
Well stated!
You are kind to say that about Chrissy's gig. I remember it a bit differently. :-)
As a fan of OTR your moniker caught my eye. :-)

“Manipulable” or “open minded”? It’s all a matter of perspective, I think.
EXCELLENT summary of Limbaugh.
