If the data are correct, the ruling could actually help Hillary in the upcoming primary. Imagine. Bush's SCOTUS picks helping Hillary's prez bid.

I guess its just too hard to apply for the proper government issued photo ID. 99% of Indiana residents have one. I don't get why that upsets the Democrats so much after all their hollering about how the 2000 election was stolen.

The groups analysis also found that 20 percent of registered voters 18 to 34 years old do not have valid IDs. Note that they don't have a valid ID. In other words, they are out-of-state students who are trying to vote where they are going to school.

But a recent study conducted by the Washington Institute for the Study of Ethnicity and Race found that 18 percent of Indianas black registered voters do not have a valid photo ID card. The groups analysis also found that 20 percent of registered voters 18 to 34 years old do not have valid IDs. Big deal. First of all, only about half of registered voters ever show up to vote anyway.
Secondly, these people only have to gather together a couple documents and spend some time at the DMV in order to get an ID.

Now if they’ll simply integrate the Real ID (tm) IDs into a national database that is referenced at the voting booths we can all but kill off voter fraud.
1. Require presentation of your Real ID at the poll.
2. Require visual match between Real ID database picture and the person wishing to vote.
3. Store where and when this person voted and do not allow the Real ID to enter another voting booth.

Okay, so let's say I live in Indiana. I really want to vote in the upcoming presidential primary, but I don't happen to have an ID card, which the law requires me to have. So I have two choices...
1. Sit back, wait, and hope the Supreme Court strikes down the law, or
2. Go get a freakin' ID card sometime before election day.
Hmmm... decisions, decisions...

I absolutely do not believe this. If they're working, they have some sort of valid photo ID. If they're not working and are on Social Security or some other form of public aid, they have some form of valid photo ID to cash their checks.

Obama criticized the courts decision. I am disappointed by todays Supreme Court decision upholding Indianas photo identification law one of the most restrictive in the nation, said Obama in a statement. The right to vote is one of our most privileged rights and important responsibilities as Americans. I filed a brief in the Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of this law because I believe that it places an unfair burden on Indiana residents who are poor, elderly, disabled, or members of minority groups.
Voting IS a privileged right AND a responsibilty of Americans, Senator Obama. Therefore to exercise such a privilege and a responsibilty it is of the highest importance that EACH and EVERY vote is a valid one because every illegal voter dilutes every legal voter's right to free and fair elections.
As usual a liberal Democrat claims support for the mechanisms that ensure free and fair elections while pushing for judicial rulings/legislation that would undermine the validity of said free and fair elections. Hypocrite.
