The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Massachusetts finds both potential democratic presidential candidates ahead of John McCain by double-digits. Hillary Clinton leads the Republican 55% to 36%, while Obama leads 51% to 39%.

Both races are close among male voters in the Bay State and both Democrats enjoy wide leads among women.

... Just 34% of Massachusetts voters think McCain should select former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as his running mate.

I thought I heard the other night McCain was actually beating Obama in the polls there, which was shocking.

Earth-shattering Prediction: McCain won't win Massachusetts or Washington DC.

Prediction: Obama won't win Oklahoma or Utah.

In other breathtaking news, Karl Marx is more popular than Jesus Christ in Massachusetts.

I like to see this poll after they choose between Obama or Clinton.

Dems ahead in Mass ? What a surprise. Not sure why Rasmussen even bothers polling in that complete waste of a state. The sad thing is, things are getting just as bad here in NJ.

"Historically, Massachusetts has been among the most reliable states for the Democrats."

"All three candidates are popular in the state. Obama is viewed favorably by 59%, Clinton by 58%, and McCain by 57%."

Suprise suprise.

Generalizing from this poll to the general election is foolish since McCain is not running against either Obama or Hillary.

And the point of this article would be - ?? Duh, Mass. is about as red a state as can be. I did just see several interesting Rasmussen polls on FNC Election HQ, though, on many issues and, in all but one, McCain had healthy leads against both BHO and HRC, with Reps. AND Dems. The oddball one exception was (ready for this?) Ethics - with the Dems - McCain led HRC but ranked behind BHO. WHAT???

LOL - hello, exactly. My previous post on the Rasmussen polls on FNC just now - they weren’t in Mass., BTW, just a broad sampling.

Earth-shattering Prediction: McCain won't win Massachusetts or Washington D.C...or New York, or New Jersey, or Vermont, or Connecticut, or Maine, or Rhode Island, or California, or Pennsylvania, or Illinois, or Washington.

Apart from that, he's got a chance pretty much everywhere else. But no chance he can win any of the ones I added on to your original prediction.

Romney would've made a good balance to McCain.

McCain strong on defense, Romney on economics. In addition, he's been well vetted with the voters, he'd balance out the age equation, etc...

Unfortunately, now, with the many people who are ignorantly or deliberately confusing the Mormon church with the pedophiles church, the FLDS, and the current outrage, Romney would be sideswiped with the ‘ignorant and deliberate.’

The thought has crossed my mind: The original caller, posing as a 16 yr old, turns out to be a woman in her late 30s and rumor linked her to the obamama campaign. Add to that the possibility that the obamama’s might well not know that the Mormon church is in no way connected to the group = one could wonder....was this a stealth blow to keep Romney off the ticket?

I think Romney might be better suited for a top cabinet position, than VP. I think he still needs to hone his political skills.

I think McCain will come close if not beat the Democrat nominee, especially if it's Obama. Gov Patrick hurts Obama, except the prospect that Partick might flee to DC in a Obama administration might be an incentive to vote for him.

Yes, Mitt wouldn’t be given any pass such as BHO’s on his allegiance to his fringe, offshoot, racist, anti-American, pro-Muslim, Black Nationalist “house of worship”.

Agreed.
As an initial supporter of Mitt, I found it wouldn’t work when I had to explain more about his religion than his platform.

It won’t work.

"All three candidates are popular in the state. Obama is viewed favorably by 59%, Clinton by 58%, and McCain by 57%." Suprise suprise.

It's been a personal battle for me these past few months, trying to talk myself into voting for McCain. But if you knew how many liberals up here have told me that they "like McCain" or "have no problem" with his becoming President...

Liberals like this guy. They see him as one of their own. Conservatives are wary and downright untrusting of him...and rightly so.

I'd feel better voting for McCain if it looked like there would be a conservative block in the House and Senate that would prevent McCain gleefully signing liberal legislation. There was a good article recently in National Review about how Mitch McConnell has used the filibuster (41 votes) to block a lot of Nutty Nancy's trashy bills. If I knew that would hold come 2009, I might feel better about voting for the madm...maverick.

Friday, April 25, 2008 The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Barack Obama attracting 45% of the vote while John McCain also earns 45%. In a match-up with Hillary Clinton, it’s McCain 47%, Clinton 45%.

In the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, it’s Obama 49%, Clinton 42% (see recent daily Democratic Nomination results). Those numbers are unchanged from the night before and, so far, there is absolutely no indication that Clinton’s victory in Pennsylvania has changed the overall dynamic of the race.

Well that Obama delegate is also LDS. Just like Romney.

Why would she want to do that?

“As an initial supporter of Mitt, I found it wouldn’t work when I had to explain more about his religion than his platform.”

Yes, and it’s a darned shame, because he had SO much to offer - experience, integrity, expertise AND platform - ALL of which BHO greatly lacks. But the Obamazombies are so taken with defending him against “personal attacks” (all of which are richly deserved) that they either don’t know or don’t care that he is totally devoid of the above qualities so necessary for the most powerful position on earth.

With just 34% of Massachusetts voters who would like to see McCain pick Romney as his VP, it's obvious that Romney is lacking political muscle.

Especially considering that Romney was running for president on his short record as Massachusetts governor and the people who voted him to that office are against him so your comments about Mormons and ignorants holds no water.

Compare Romney's 34% Massachusetts support for VP with Huckabee’s current 65% positive approval rating in Arkansas after serving 2 complete terms as governor and you get a clear picture of who would be the most effective and positive VP for the country and the Republican party with huge potential at winning the presidency for the party 8 years down the road.

With Huckabee we are talking about a good shot at 16 years of further Republican control of the White House. That's what being positive like Huckabee will bring you... 65% approval rating even after 2 terms!

re your assertion we should have the Huck for VP

I was gonna say I'd like some of what you're smoking - but on second thought, I don't think I'd risk it. But thanks for the great send off for the day - laughter is, indeed, a great medicine.
