Godspeed, Governor.
YES!
I mean, um, this is a good thing.
What a pity that the Murder for Cash Killers lost some of their blood money.
Sure wish she’d run for President in 2012. Heck ... she’d even make an awesome VP now.
Now if only she hadn’t handicapped him by naming him “Trig.” Eeek!
Best wishes to all the Palins.
God bless her, her child, and the rest of her family.
As others have pointed out, when and if the homosexual “gene” is discovered and can be tested for early in pregnancy, the “pro-choice” movement will undergo a sea change.
Although attitudes are changing already, in the past 15 years or so.
A politician who lives what she believes.
Cool.
I’d vote for her in a heartbeat, but alas, we’re stuck with the likes of Hillary.
As much as I admire Gov. Palin’s decision, the headline on this story is misleading. Anyone who knows the family understands that there was never any pressure for the governor to abort this child. It might be nice just to praise her love for life and leave the politics aside. Sarah and Todd’s actions speak louder than any headline or political posturing.

Sarah Palin for president!!!
The Palins have four other children including Track, 18, Bristol, 17, Willow, 13 and Piper, 7
And now Trig. I am confusitated...
Sorry (sort of) for raining on the parade, but how does a woman find time to be mother to an infant and governor simultaneously? Doesn’t compute with me. Not that it’s really any of my business.
Ping!
God bless her, her family and especially
Trig. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
he joins my sister in his survival...
God bless this woman and her family, including the new baby..it’s awesome to see this kind of dedication and love in this day and age.
Courage.
For every woman that gives birth to a baby with Down’s Syndrome, 200 women will abort what would have been a perfectly normal child.
This society is really screwed (no pun intended).
One reason I loved living in Alaska was that people thought for themselves, didn’t care much about being PC, and everyone accepted others’ decisions and beliefs. The only place I’ve seen true tolerance. I love her attitude.
I’m old enough to remember when aborting babies was the newsmaker.
These days a woman, who is governor of a state, makes news, and gets praise, for having moral character, doing what is decent, and never considering doing otherwise.
I doubt she, along with the majority of other decent folks, wants or expects praise for it.
Hmmmmm...that child was obviously fun to make.
Welcome to the world little one...you are indeed a gift! I love this mom’s way of explaining her special child:

I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability - to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel. It’s like this......
When you’re going to have a baby, it’s like planning a fabulous vacation trip - to Italy. You buy a bunch of guide books and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum. The Michelangelo David. The gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It’s all very exciting.
After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says, “Welcome to Holland.”
“Holland?!?” you say. “What do you mean Holland?? I signed up for Italy! I’m supposed to be in Italy. All my life I’ve dreamed of going to Italy.”
But there’s been a change in the flight plan. They’ve landed in Holland and there you must stay.
The important thing is that they haven’t taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place, full of pestilence, famine and disease. It’s just a different place.
So you must go out and buy new guide books. And you must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met.
It’s just a different place. It’s slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you’ve been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around.... and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills....and Holland has tulips. Holland even has Rembrandts.
But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy... and they’re all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say “Yes, that’s where I was supposed to go. That’s what I had planned.”
And the pain of that will never, ever, ever, ever go away... because the loss of that dream is a very very significant loss.
But... if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn’t get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things ... about Holland.
Bless her and her family.
Many congratulations to the Palin family! Welcome, little Trig.
Bravo Mr. and Governor Palin!

WOOOHOOO Trig!
Welcome to the world!
We are doing our best to make it a better place for everyone.

Congratulations, Gov. Palin, to you and your family on your new bundle of joy!
I had a close relative with Down Syndrome. People with Downs are truly angels on earth. They retain a sweetness and innocence throughout their lives.
Ditto!
Beautiful story!
God bless her. Downs children can be a challenge, but most times they are so simple (in a good way) and full of love that they truly do bring great blessings on the family who accepts them with love.
Beautiful lady in every way.
If I weren’t already married to the most wonderful person in the world, I’d propose.
AMEN indeed, wagglebee - I wonder if anyone has talked to the Governor about cord blood therapy for the baby - referencing your ping from yesterday about the baby who was treated with it’s own cord blood and nearly all Down’s Syndrome symptoms regressed.
Trig?
He will be a blessing.
Everyone interested in this should read a brilliant book called Expecting Adam. Just read it. A university student married couple finds out their baby will have Down’s and what happens next. Happy ending, but the truth comes out about the “elite Harvard liberals.”
