In 2005 I was attending a course at the U.S. Army JAG school in Charlottesville, VA. One night when I was duty officer a young Israeli Defense Force JAG lawyer and her husband checked in at the front desk.

I handed them their room keys and said, “God bless Israel!”

They smiled at each other and said to me, “God bless America!”
