Illegal immigrants arrested in raid to be deported (in AR)

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Federal judges ordered 18 illegal immigrants arrested a north Arkansas poultry plant to be processed for deportation. However, none will serve any jail time for using fake Social Security numbers and state identification cards.

Magistrate Judge Beth Deere and U.S. District Judge James Moody accepted guilty pleas today from 17 of those arrested at the Pilgrim's Pride plant in Batesville last week. Federal prosecutors dismissed the misdemeanor charges against one man, but say they planned to ask U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to begin deportation proceedings against him.

Those arrested had faced up to up to 2 years in prison and $205,000 in fines.

U.S. Attorney Jane Duke says her office had no interest in seeing those arrested serve jail time, as they were "otherwise law-abiding citizens."

Three others face administrative charges of immigration violations after the raid Wednesday at the Pilgrim's Pride plant, part of a national sweep at company operations in Florida, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia.

I’m sure Mike Huckabee will fire off a nasty letter of protest blasting the deportation of “God’s Children”.

While I don't agree with U.S. Attorney Jane Duke's stupid statement, I do agree with the decision to deport the malefactors immediately instead of putzing around with expensive court proceedings and then putting them up with room and board in the Graybar Hotel at taxpayers' expense.

Hook 'em, book 'em and kick 'em out.

Chicken-plucking, lice-ridden, disease-carrying, potential rapists, murderers and thieves who are castoffs from Mexico.

The politicians breathlessly await even more to fill up all the empty spaces in our nation.

Ms, Jane "dog Squeeze" Duke is a fine example of a government employee that is concerned with protecting the people of this country. What are you going to do about the problems caused to the people who's id's were stolen, Bitch?

"otherwise law-abiding citizens."

Otherwise?

Absolutely, KICK THEM OUT, I am tired of our money being spent on them for ANYTHING. They are like locus and they are stripping the locals, the states and the federal government of revenue.

They’re breaking the backs of Legal Citizens who work and pay in these abominable taxes that are seen and unseen.

The whole family needs to be deported at once. Women and children here illegally must go and the gov needs to cut spending and handouts to law breakers.

Biometeric documentation and repeat male offenders 18 and older serve 6 months labor with 3 hots and a cot building the southern wall and fence. No exceptions.

Isn’t that nice.

They win an expense-paid trip home for vacation.

[Most will be back as soon as they finish their visits with friends and relatives south of the border.]

I disagree. Deporting them now is effectively letting them OFF the hook so long as the border remains unsecured and they can return tomorrow, new identity, new crimes. That to me is a waste of taxpayer dollars...just spinning our wheels playing the deportation game. In the meantime, they should be put in prison or camps, work in Arpaio’s chain gangs and save the taxpayer $$$ by helping build the border fence or clean up the garbage left by illegal crossers. When the border is effectively secured, then deport them.

Sorry.....it's not so much a question of cost at the prisons and jails, but a matter of space and beds.

Ever-increasing "work gangs" mean more guards hired for supervision, and the guards get benefits, etc. in addition to salary. More illegals and criminal legals kept here means more cells having to be built and outsourcing prisoners to other counties and states for billeting.

Nope, the best thing to do is to deport them on the next special-destination Greyhound and if they attempt to re-enter, THEN incarcerate them.

Yep they're being deported to their choice of Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas or Oklahoma. They've also been warned that if they should return to Batesville that they will be docked for their missed shifts and the time lost will be accounted against them in their their next performance appraisal.
