Hard work, determination and a love of freedom are foundational principles that make Idaho “The Great State.” In the past, Idaho has been an ideal place to raise families and produce solid citizens. As we grow, keeping Idaho true to our legacy of conservative family values and ideals will be the ongoing challenge. I am not living in the Treasure Valley just because of outstanding recreation or budding opportunities. I am living here because I want my kids to call Idaho their home. I am committed to preserving “The Great State of Idaho” for our children and their children. I hope you will join me in this quest.

Yes. This also happens to be the district where I live, since I have been getting email from various GOP candidates—perhaps the downside of registering with a specific party.
What’s wrong with the GOP incumbent ? Unless they turn out especially odious, I would tend not to want to turn them out. Of course, I’ve never had a Republican State Rep., State Sen., or Congressman in my life (none have been elected from my district since Reconstruction in the 1870s).

As far as I can tell there really isn’t, but my particular district is a solid GOP district. There’s that one dope that drives a Prius up and down Meridian Road, but that might be the most culturally liberal thing you’ll see in my neck of the woods...
...that having been said, West is still somewhat unknown to a lot of voters, so my thinking is that we’ll be seeing his name more often down the road. But I could be completely wrong about that and I’ll stick my neck out and risk being completely wrong about this.

dj is correct here. Vander Woude is the guy in 21A and actually has a 100% conservative record per the link provided above.

House
Republicans: 51
Democrats: 19
Senate
Republicans: 28
Democrats: 7
