GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: This is a "FOX News Alert." The fate of the FLDS children, 416 of them, taken from a Texas polygamist compound has been decided, at least temporarily. A Texas judge ruled that all 416 children will remain in state custody and will be subject to DNA testing. Individual hearings will be set for the children over the next several weeks.
Now, the news tonight, 33-year-old Rosita Swinton just arrested in Colorado for filing a false police report, pretending to be an abused girl locked in a basement. But it gets even more bizarre. Who else has Swinton been calling? Well, Swinton has many, many times called Flora Jessop, a former FLDS church member who now runs a rescue mission for teen girls trying to escape.

However, she is an attorney and knows that the answer is no: they were treated the same as anyone else would be in that situation.
Looks like this fake report of abuse is exactly the excuse the state of Texas was looking for.
Another person unable to understand the chain of events.
The Colorado calls had NOTHING to do with the original warrant.
The Texas calls were taken by a shelter which does not record calls. Jessop never heard the original caller.
I really don’t care if the original call was a hoax.
From EVERYTHING I’ve seen, there is polygamy and statutory rape going on in that Mormon compund, and I for one am glad that Walker, Texas Ranger and all of his fellow officers are putting an end to it.

Keith is going to expose Hillary for the despicable liar she is. If he doesn’t, I’ll make a few phone calls and get him arrested for fraud and treason. When Obama is elected president, I will be working with him and his administration to round up every domestic war criminal and send them to sensitivity training camps. That will include all those Fox people, conservative bloggers, Republican operatives, war profiteering warmongers, those anti-choice bigots who shout at women exercising their God-given right to choose, and of course all those sick child molesting christian bigots. The last eight years has been a reign of terror from the right. Nothing less than eight years of unrelenting war against the whole right wing and their sympathizers will balance out what our stinking pile of pig crap Nazi president has done. I’m going to the convention for Obama, because he’s the only person who is willing to beg Europe for our reputation back, talk with and ally himself with Chavez and Ahmedinejad and all the world’s true freedom-fighters. Only with Obama will it be down with Haliburton and the international cabal of war profiteers and down with the so-called christian ideals. Let the new era begin without this ridiculous notion that the U.S. is better than anyone else. Sen. Obama knows this, that’s why he won’t wear the stupid American flag pin on his jacket. The whole thing makes him sick like it makes me sick. If Hillary steals the nomination, no real Democrat will ever vote for her. Better let the rupugnicans win, while we organize the underground resistance.

If Rosita Swinten is disturbed, it is quite possible she was abused earlier in her life. At any rate with the DNA they should be able to determine if underaged girls have given birth, and who the fathers are.

Could be a “hoax” but I’m going to wait and see how many 12-16 year old pregnant girls and mothers they find and see what DNA says about who the father is.
I haven't seen any evidence to support that yet. There is a lot of speculation, and there may well be evidence .. but I haven't seen any of it yet.
I think the truth and evidence needed will come out with these DNA tests they are doing. I think the raid needed to be done .. and based on other *like* sects .. I'm sure that evidence will be forthcoming.
Sometimes people have pre-drawn conclusions and believe what they want to believe. Remember when everyone rushed out to believe that Dan Rather had real evidence to prove his case against Bush in the Reserves? And then it all blew up?
I want to see some conclusive evidence .. and I think that will not come until the DNA results come back.

The police probably couldn't get a warrant for the phone records of the shelter where the original calls were received without evidence of a false report, and may still be having trouble getting them now. They may be able to get a Judge to order that if the records show the calls came from Swinton, or the area where she lives, the whole records of those particular calls would need to be turned over.
However, if the police didn't have good reason to suspect that the calls were falsified, they likely couldn't have gotten a warrant for phone records from the shelter, and wouldn't have had good reason to suspect that the calls were faked since they seemed credible based on their contents.
If the police didn't attain the warrant under false pretenses (they didn't know the reports were false) I doubt the evidence attained under the warrant is going to be thrown out even if it turns out the calls weren't from a real victim.
There’s some major weirdness going on here. I wonder if Swinton has a friend who works at the Texas domestic abuse shelter/hotline. If so, 2 possiblities: 1) the whole thing was a hoax arranged by the friend in Texas, who knew bad things were going on inside the compound and was frustrated that police/CPS wouldn’t investigate without a call from a specific victim, or 2) the friend told Swinton a lot of details about the initial call(s) from a real victim, received by the shelter hotline on March 29, not realizing what a nutcase Swinton is, and this prompted Swinton to start making the phony calls to Flora Jessop.
Let’s remember “innocent until proven guilty.”
Michael Savage has been screaming that this whole thing is a hoax for days, an excuse for lesbians at the call center to steal the girls or some such thing. That last part doesn’t make sense to me, since it is my understanding that the girls are in the custody of the state of Texas.
I’m taking no positions, just reporting what I heard Savage raving about. He was rather out of control, but that’s not unusual.
