If Gregory Christopher Decay is convicted of capital murder this week, his attorneys plan to argue that the former New Orleans resident pulled the trigger on a Fayetteville couple while traumatized from Hurricane Katrina.

The capital murder trial for Decay, 24, begins today in Washington County. He is accused in the April 2007 slayings of Kevin Barkley Jones and Kendall Rachell Rice, both 24.

Jones and Rice were shot in the head in a drug dispute, court records show. Their bodies were found in their Fayetteville apartment.

Deputy public defender Julie Tolleson said that if Decay is convicted, she will argue that trauma caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 will be part of mitigating evidence in the sentencing phase.

Obviously premeditated murder. A drug dispute because the accused murderer claims his victims broke into his apartment and stole his pot.

But..... it’s all the hurricane’s fault. Case closed.

Sooooooooooo taking this 'defense' to its logical conclusion - when FR goes down for a few hours or a day FReepers can get out the guns and kill people we don't like 'cause we're "traumatized".

No. Better yet. Everyone who didn't get that Pony from Santa when they were nine can now go on killing sprees! (watch it buster, I'm loading my magazines now) /s

(and I thought the Twinkie Defense was bull. This beats it by a mile)

That's as believable as the "noose" defense in the Jener sicks trial.

Oh wait, the Sicks NEVER even mentioned the "noose" untill Hymie man brought it up!
