AG's refusal to take illegal immigrants' case threatens federal funding

LINCOLN, Neb. (Legal Newsline)-Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning's failure to prosecute a case on behalf of two illegal immigrants could cost the state federal funding aimed at fighting discrimination.

Earlier this month, after the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission forwarded him the latest case involving the illegal immigrants, Bruning said the state should consider shutting down the commission entirely.

Taxpayer money, he added, should not be used to pursue a case on behalf of an illegal immigrant, even if there was a legitimate complaint.

I can think of several laws this AG is breaking by his actions and inactions. He should be arrested and held in a Federal Detention Center, until his trial and convictions.

Really, care to share, or just make unsupported statements?

So?

They are not citizens of this country.

Upholding one law can mean breaking another. There has to be a complete house cleaning of conflicting law. If they are going to force him to prosecute a case against illegals then the illegals should be arrested through the trial and then deported.

A U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said Thursday that it would no longer reimburse the state for pursuing discrimination cases and would stop forwarding complaints it receives to the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission.

I've heard of some of these discrimination cases. Some of them sound like the plaintiffs should be hauled in on bunko charges

The Nebraska commission would lose $240,000 annually if federal officials stop paying the state for each complaint it investigates.

Is that all? Telling the feds where to stick it ? Priceless, this is dirt cheap in comparison.

After more than reading the headline, I agree that the defendanrs would have to prove malfeasance in office, but it is incumbent on all officers of the court, the are obliged to report to the court, all criminal activities to which they becobecome apprised.

If we were truly following the US constitution and following common sense, the plaintiffs would have no standing, not being citizens of the US.

They would be immediately deported, however, for their trouble.

If illegal aliens don’t have to obey the law, why do the rest of us have to obey the law?

I agree, they should obey the law. All our laws, including our immigration laws.

the plaintiffs should have their day in court, then be deported back to wherever they came from.

No. Any criminal complaint from any illegal should be swiftly dismissed, and the illegal making the complaint should be deported immediately. Having no access to the legal system as an illegal would be a strong disincentive for future illegals to come here.

Okay...I’ll go with that. But if they win ‘damages’ they should forfeit any award to the state as compensation for unspecified costs that illegals bring to the state (food stamps, welfare, healthcare costs., etc.)

Because we're mere citizens and some of us are white. That makes us openly guilty and liable to obey the law.
