Eh. What can I say? It’s Spain. You should see some of the names of the other towns around the base.

And it only took 4 posts before that game showed up. LOL!
Origin ... my old stomping grounds. They don't exist anymore though. But speaking of space ... Origin founder, Richard Garriott, is in training now to hop aboard a Soyuz rocket this fall.

Mississippi Ping. MS boy, Clarinet_King, son of NerdDad and CDBear, gets his Space Wings.
He’s learned how to post articles but I still gotta teach him about pinging the MS bunch.

Those of us who know him best and love him most are quick to note that there is no more appropriate place for my boy to be stationed than MORON Air Base.

Is the peace sign in the middle of the Space Wing insignia deliberate? If so,whoever designed it has a devilish sense of humor.
To: Red Steel
Is it just me or is it possible the person designing this badge is a closet
Star Trek fan?

I hope you get to enjoy a little bit of Spain...
I was stationed at Rota from 2003-2005...loved it... and have been to Morno at least half a dozen times....
If you go to Seville, look up the Bar Julia—It’s a very nice restaurant — ask for the Pollo al Ajillo, ask for a tapa if you’re not too hungry. But if you are, ask for a “racion” — Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed!
Oh, and ask for a “Tinto de verano” to wash it down!
Cheers!

Before retiring, I worked at HQ AFSpaceCom, and was there when the 21SW was activated.
If I remember correctly, there was an in-house contest to come up with the logo, and it was created and submitted by a local Airman.
We used to tease the 21SW (HQ) folks that they put a paper airplane on their logo because that's all they had to do all day was make paper airplanes and throw them across the office area at each other. The other quip was “wing nuts”.
The organization faced some challenging issues following it's inception, but clearly met the mark.
Congratulations to this newly badged member, and God Bless all of them.
