Who is Bob Barr? Just heard on Fox News he might be running as a 3rd party candidate (libertarian). I am posting this thread because I don't know anything about him and am wondering if anyone else does.

Where ya been? This guy’s a former congresscritter. He musta taken LSD as a kid because he’s been on a bad trip flashback for half a dozen years or so.

Former Republican Congressman leans Libertarian. Lost reelection in 2002 (i think) because of a new congressional district created.
He’s the first congressman to recommend impeaching Clinton, and he served on his impeachment trial. He showed the kind of integrity during the Clinton years that was quite rare. I suspect the Clinton machine knocked him out of office.

I think you are mistaken. Bob Barr was a Republican but has since been abandoned by his party. The man has a 98 LIFETIME ACU rating. He IS a conservative.

You go back about 50 years or so and you'll find the Republican Party was quite Libertarian in practice. Since then.....the Democrats became full fledged Socialists....and the Republicans have...........(I hate to even say it).
Bob Barr is conservative when it comes to property rights, and liberal when it comes to human rights....as most Libertarians indeed are.....something the Republican Party used to claim proudly!
